Theme From Nice Guy  Paul Dempsey

Hey guys this is my first tab.
There is a capo on 3.
You might have to work out the strumming yourself but I will list the chords he
uses. I know it's not accurate, but it's my first tab.
If you have any questions or can help me improve it, email me: timusus@hotmail.com
There are 2 different A#maj in this song. The first is normal, and the second is a
bar chord, so i labelled them A#maj1 and A#maj2 (I will show what the chords are at
the bottom)
A#maj1 A#sus2 A#maj1
I could catch up to - to where you are
see if w[Dm/A]e can make it righ[D#maj7/A#]t
if I th[A#maj2]ought meeting you s[Gm]omewhere in the dark
was gonna shed [Dm/A]any new light[D#maj7/A#]
Oh we'd sit[A#maj2] around, we'd ta[Gm]lk awhile
make polit[Dm/A]e excuses[D#maj7/A#]
but t[A#maj2]he cat has my[Gm] tongue and I'm not saying much
'cause I get[Dm/A] shy around bullshit[D#maj7/A#]
[A#maj2] [Gm]
Dm/A D#maj7/A# A#maj1 (He rings out the high notes here)
My new time-piece is watching ice melt
down the[Dm/A] bottom of my glass[D#maj7/A#]
and I love[A#maj2] to watch them f[Gm]uses burn
down to[Dm/A]wards their future[D#maj7/A#] plans
gets me[A#maj2] thinking about - it's[Gm] time to empty out
these pockets[Dm/A] of their idle hands[D#maj7/A#]
and sing la d[A#maj2]a dadida da da[Gm], dadada
Lock all [Dm/A]the doors, [D#maj7/A#]pull the pho[A#maj2]ne from the [Fadd9]wall, [A#maj1]run and hide
[D#maj/G] Oh I used to be, I used to be such a nice guy[Gm] [A#maj1]
D#maj/G Gm D#maj/G (Last chord shifted up 2 frets)
[Dm/A] [D#maj7/A#] [A#maj2]
Maybe clarity will creep up on me
and rese[Dm/A]t my senses li[D#maj7/A#]ke a clock
and y[A#maj2]ou'll convince me that [Gm]your reality
is a better id[Dm/A]ea than the one tha[D#maj7/A#]t I've got
and you'll gi[A#maj2]ve me a second chance at my[Gm] second chance
and we will laugh about[Dm/A] my near miss[D#maj7/A#]
and the good [A#maj2]lord will reward my [Gm]ignorance
with a little[D#maj/G] bliss[Gm] [D#maj/G]
(Last chord shifted 2 frets up)
And I'll see a welcome face in the mirror that I don't recognise
Oh I [D#maj/G] used to be such a nice guy[Gm] [A#maj1]
D#maj/G Gm D#maj/G (Last chord shifted 2 frets up)
but now the details are vague, it's so strange, like a previous life
Oh I used to[D#maj/G] be such a nice guy[Gm] [A#maj1]
D#maj/G Gm D#maj/G (Last chord shifted 2 frets up)
But now you say I don't know when to admit that I'm lost -
when to stubbornly ins[D#maj/G]ist that I'm not[Gm]
Oh dear [D#maj/G]bless every thought in yo[Cm/G]ur thoughtful head
[Gm]
[Dm/A] [D#maj7/A#] [A#maj2]
la da dadida da da, dadada
[Dm/A]la da dadid[D#maj7/A#]a da da, dad[A#maj2]ada
[Dm/A]la da dadid[D#maj7/A#]a da da, dad[A#maj2]ada[Fadd9]
[Dm/A]la da dadid[D#maj7/A#]a da da, dad[A#maj2]ada, oh
[Dm/A]la da dadid[D#maj7/A#]a da da, dad[A#maj2]ada [Fadd9]
[Dm/A] [D#maj7/A#] [A#maj2]
Chords: I used http://www.chordbook.com/guitarchords.php guitar to work out all
the chords. Some might not be quite right,
but please appreciate this tab took over an hour to do,
as it's my first. I also know it's not entirely accurate.
To get it right you'll have to listen
to the song and experiment a bit.
The chord diagrams are relative to the capo, i.e. the capo is on 3, which will be 0.
[A#maj1] 3 [A#sus2] 3 [Dm/A] 2 [D#maj7/A#] 3 [A#maj2] 3 [Gm] 0 [Fadd9] 0 [D#maj/G] 0 [Cm/G] 0
2 0 2 3 5 2 0 3 0
0 0 4 5 5 2 0 2 2
0 0 4 4 4 0 2 0 2
3 3 3 5 3 0 3 1 1
3 0 2 3 3 0 2 0 0
The chord I refer to as (Last chord shifted 2 frets up) is just:
0
[5]
[4]0
[3]0
I couldn't find a name for it.
There are a few times in the song where Paul does a little slide up a fret and
back down, you'll have to listen to pick it up. I tabbed this from watching
his live video on youtube.
Props to whoever filmed that, good job.
The song is much easier than these tabs probable make it look. Good luck
