Between The Bars  Smith Elliot

[Em7]Drink up, baby, s[C]tay up all night.
With the th[G]ings you could do,
You w[B7]on't but you might.
The pot[Em7]ential you'll be,
That yo[C]u'll never see,
The pr[G]omises yo[B]u'll only m[C]ake.
Drink [Em7]up with me now,
And forg[C]et all about
The pre[G]ssure of days.
[B7]Do what I say,
And I'll m[Em7]ake you okay,
And dr[C]ive them away
The i[G]mages st[B]uck in your [C]head
[C]Peop[D]le [Em]you've been be[Em/C#]fore
That you d[C]on't w[D]ant ar[Em]ound an[Em/C#]ymore
[C] That push and [D]shove and won't [Em]bend to your [Em/C#]will.
[C] I'll keep them s[Cm]till.
[Em7]Drink up, baby, lo[C]ok at the stars.
I'll k[G]iss you again
[B7]Between the bars,
Where I'm se[Em7]eing you there,
With your ha[C]nds in the air,
[G]Waiting to fi[B]nally be ca[C]ught.
Drink [Em7]up one more time,
And I[C]'ll make you mine.
[G]Keep you apart,
[B7]Deep in my heart,
Separa[Em7]te from the rest,
Where I l[C]ike you the best,
And ke[G]ep the t[B]hings you fo[C]rgot.
The [C]peo[D]ple [Em]you've been be[Em/C#]fore
That you d[C]on't w[D]ant ar[Em]ound an[Em/C#]ymore
That [C]push and [D]shove and won't [Em]bend to your will.
[C]  I'll keep them st[Cm]ill.
