Walk on the Ocean  Toad the Wet Sprocket

Walk On The Ocean Chords by Toad The Wet Sprocket
Tabbed by Big Daddy Glenn
I saw many good attempts and one really close one. As simple as this song sounds it
has a complex progression with a tight walking bass line. Too many people are playing a
Em where the B is. Follow these chord forms and the progression listed and you?ll hear
from the other versions. The key on the B is to be sure you don?t play the
string and to strum through the chord and play the open D in the chord. Realize that all
notes are relative to the Capo on the 4th fret.
Toad The Wet Sprocket - Walk On The Ocean
(Capo 4th fret - all chords relative)
Chords used:
[G] [C] [A] [Em] [F#/D]

VERSE 1: (The first A is played with the 3?s on the B and E strings)
We spotted the [G]oc[C]ea[G]n at the hea[A]d of the tra[Em]il[C] [G]

where [A]eve[B]ry[C]th[G]ing's bette[F#/D]r and everyt[A]hi[Asus4]ng's s[A]afe
CHORUS: (Play this Em open without the fingers in the ?G? position and this a ?D?
the ?F#? root, A is open as well)
Em?F#--G D A
Walk on the Ocean Step on the stone
Em?F#--G D A
Flesh becomes water Wood becomes bone
A half an hour [G]la[C]te[G]r We [A]packed up our [Em]thi[C]ng[G]s
We [A]said we'd send [G]le[C]tt[G]ers And [F#/D]all of those lit[A]tl[Asus4]e thin[A]gs
And they knew we were [G]ly[C]in[G]g But they [A]smiled just the [Em]sam[F#/D]e[G]
It s[A]eemed they'd [B]al[C]re[G]ady For[F#/D]gotten we cam[A]e[Asus4] [A]
(Play the chords of the chorus twice)
Now back at the [G]ho[C]me[G]stead Where the [A]air makes you [Em]cho[C]ke[G]
Where [A]people don't [G]kn[C]ow[G] you And [F#/D]trust is a jok[A]e[Asus4] [A]
Don't even have [G]pi[C]ct[G]ures Just [A]memories to [Em]hol[F#/D]d[G]
It grows [A]sweeter each [B]se[C]as[G]on As we [F#/D]slowly grow old[A]
OPTIONAL CHORUS - repeat until fade
