=================================================
Bill Withers - Grandma's Hands
=================================================
(Verse)
[Em]Grandma's hands
[Em]Clapped in church on Sunday morning
[Em]Grandma's hands
[Em]Played a [A]tambourine so well
[Em]Grandma's hands
Used to issue out a warning
[Em]She'd say, [A]"Billy don't you [G]run so fast
[A]Might fall on a [G]piece of glass
[A]"Might be snakes there in that [G]grass"
[Em]Grandma's hands
(Verse)
Grandma's hands
Soothed a local unwed mother
Grandma's hands
Used to ache sometimes and swell
Grandma's hands
Used to lift her face and tell her,
"Baby, Grandma understands
That you really love that man
Put yourself in Jesus hands"
Grandma's hands
(Verse)
Grandma's hands
Used to hand me piece of candy
Grandma's hands
Picked me up each time I fell
Grandma's hands
Boy, they really came in handy
She'd say, "Matty don' you whip that boy
What you want to spank him for?
He didn' drop no apple core"
But I don't have Grandma anymore
[A]If I get to [G]Heaven I'll look for
[Em]Grandma's hands

Notes
=================================================
(Intro)
It's nice to add the traditional three strums of E minor, palm mute, and then add the
humm on the fourth of each bar which makes this tune instantly recognizable.
(Tab)
There's a pretty good video of this tune being played by the man himself on youtube
if you fancy having a go at 'tabbing' Grandma's Hands. It shouldn't be too hard.
