Carbon Ribs  John Mark McMillan

From "The Medicine"
I can't even begin to figure out what James is doing this entire song, but
it's awesome. For the acoustic, here are the chords with the basic tab notes
below.
Intro x2
[E] [-] [B] [-] [A] [-] [B]
Verse 1
[(E)]A Thousand pairs of fiery eyes
[B]Burn like a serpent down the hwy 5
As the [A]long amber tail to Los [B]Angeles unwi[E]nds
[(E)]I've got this resurrection down inside my skin
But [B]for all my revelating I just cant make s[A]ense
Of this [B]gravity we're i[E]n
Chorus
Cause I'm a [C#m]dead man now with a ghost who lives
Within the [B]confines of these carbon ribs
And [A]one day when I'm [B]free I will [C#m]sit
The c[B]ripple at Your [E]table[B]
The cripple by Your s[A]ide[B] [E]
Intro/main riff

Verse 2
[(E)]A thousand miles of pain I'm sure
[B]Led you to the threshold of my hearts screen door
To te[A]ll me what it [B]is I'm dying fo[E]r
[(E)]Gravity comes like a cold cold rain
To l[B]ead me to the rope again
But some[A]one is s[B]tanding in my p[E]lace
Chorus x2
Bridge
And[C#m] I sit bes[B]ide You
And [A]I sit bes[B]ide You
And[C#m] I sit bes[B]ide You
And [A]I sit bes[B]ide You
Outro (this isn't on the album but is sometimes played live; the chorus of
the hymn "Nothing but the Blood")
[E]Oh precious is the flow
[B]That makes me white as sn[A]ow
[E]No other fount I [C#m]know
[E]Nothing but the [A]blood of [B]Jes[E]us

 e|------------------------7--------------------------------------------|
 B|--7-9-over-and-over---9----------------------------------------------|
 G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
 D|-------------------------------4h6-----------------------------------|
 A|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
 E|---------------------------------------------------------------------|

To play it in the Capo 4 C position might work better since it makes the
lead "ditty" easier to play. The 4h6 would be 0h2 and the 7-9 would be 3-5.
Just transpose it above by clicking the "down 4 half steps".
