Tiny Fish for Japan Stan Rogers
Tiny Fish for Japan by Stan Rogers.
Tabbed by Josh O'Leary. My first tab.
Aquired by observing this dude on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZNtyQRyQ4E.
to him for his great videos.
It is supposed to be crosspicked, but I just strum the chords. Anyways, here are the
I think the guy is playing.
I cant quite figure out the chord I labelled D4?. I play it with the D string on the
fret, and B and e both on the third.
Thats what i think the guy plays, and it sounds good.
Standard tuning, no capo.
Where P[G]atterson C[Am]reek's muddy wa[D]ters run d[E]own
Past the pe[C]nny arc[G]ades, by the [Am]harbour dow[D]ntown,
[E]All the old Turtl[Am]ebacks r[D]ust in the r[E]ain
Like they n[C]ever will l[D]eave there ag[G]ain.
But l[G]eave there they w[Am]ill in the ho[D]urs before da[E]wn,
Slip [C]out in the d[G]arkness wit[Am]hout word or so[D]ng;
For a [E]few more years y[Am]et they will w[D]ork while they c[E]an
To c[C]atch tiny f[D]ish for Ja[G]pan.
No whi[D]te fish or tr[D]out here, we le[C]ave them al[G]one.
The ins[C]pectors raise h[G]ell if we ta[Am]ke any ho[D]me.
[D]What kind of fis[D]herman can[C]'t eat his cat[G]ch
E D4? D
Or call what he's taken his own?
But the pla[G]nt works three s[Am]hifts now. There's p[D]lenty of p[E]ay.
We ship sev[C]enteen t[G]ons of this ga[Am]rbage each d[D]ay.
If we w[E]ant to eat [Am]fish, then we'll o[D]pen a c[E]an,
And ca[C]tch tiny f[D]ish for J[G]apan.
In the N[D]orfolk H[D]otel over[C] far too much[G] beer,
The o[C]ld guys reme[G]mber when the [Am]water ran cl[D]ear.
No p[D]oisons with na[D]mes that we c[C]an't under[G]stand
E D4? D
And no tiny fish for Japan...
So the da[G]ys run tog[Am]ether. Each o[D]ne is the sa[E]me.
And it's g[C]ood that the s[G]melt have no l[Am]ovelier n[D]ame.
It's a[E]ll just a j[Am]ob now, we'll w[D]ork while we c[E]an,
To ca[C]tch tiny f[D]ish for Ja[G]pan.
And we'll c[C]atch tiny f[D]ish for Ja[G]pan.
