Innocent When You Dream  Tom Waits

[F]The bats are[F#dim]in the [Gm]belfry
the [C]dew is on the [F]moor
where [Am]are the arms that [Dm]held me
and [Bb]pledged her love be[F]fore
and [Bb]pledged her [C]love be[F]fore
Chorus:
[F]it's such a[F#dim]sad old [Gm]feeling
(All of) The [C]fields are soft and [F]green
it's [F]memories[F7A]that I'm [Dm]stealing
but you're [F]innocent [Bb]when you [Amin]dream
[Bb]when you [Amin]dream[Bb]yeah,
you're inn[F]ocent[Bb]when[C]you[F]dream

Running through the graveyard
we laughed my friends and I
we swore we'd be together
until the day we die
until the day we die

Chorus

I made a golden promise
that we would never part
I gave my love a locket
and then I broke her heart
and then I broke her heart

Chorus ( x 2 )

So I added some corrections...You can still transpose to play it in C as it was transcribed on here, but Tom played it in F. There are some complex chords in it that are simple to play. The F7A you can play just like a simple F on guitar, but with an Eb in place of the F. Similar to an Fdim9 but with a different structure. There are multiple ways to play the F#dim, I like to play an F Barre chord and then just move my barre on the low E only up to an F# from the F. It isn't exaclty right, but it sounds about the same. Hope these corrections make it sound better to y'all!
