[G] [Em] [Am] [D7] [G] [D/F#]
It [G]seems like a [Em]dream now, it was [Am]so long ago,
The [D]moon burned so bright and the [C]time went so [D7]slow,
And I [G]swore that I [Em]loved her and [Am]gave her a ring.
The [D]bluebird was [D7]high on the [G]wing.
[C]Whatever [G]happened to [Am]Saturday [G]night?
[C]Finding a [G]sweetheart and [G7]holding her [F]tight?
She said "[C]Tell me, oh, [G]tell me, [Am]was I al[G]right?"
[C]Whatever [G]happened to [Am]Saturday [G]night?
The [G]years brought the [Em]railroad it [Am]ran by my door.
Now there's [D]boards on the windows and [C]dust on the [D7]floor
And she [G]passes the [Em]time at a[Am]nother man's side,
And [D]I pass the [D7]time with my [G]pride.
[C]What a tangled [G]web we [Em(addG)]weave, go '[C]round with circum[G]stance.[Em(addG)]
[C]Someone show me [G]how to [Em(add]tell th[G)]e [Em7]dancer [C]from [G]the dance.
