The guitar walks the bass line down from D to G.
Also, It's also much easier to play with a capo on 2 in the key of C like this:
C - G/B - Am - G - F - Fm - C
And the verse chords are:
C - G/B - Am - G - G7
C - G/B - Am - G - F - G
Or...at least...that's the way I'm hearing it.
