He stopped loving her today  George Jones

He said I'll love you til I d[G]ie
She told him you'll forget in [C]time
As the years went slowly [D]by
She still preyed upon his m[G]ind
He kept her picture on his w[G]all
Went half crazy now and t[C]hen
He still loved her through it a[D]ll
Hoping she'd come back ag[G]ain
Kept some letters by his b[G]ed
[C]  [and]    [in]   [1962]     He had underlined in r[D]ed
Every single I love y[G]ou
I went to see him just tod[G]ay
Oh but I didn't see no te[C]ars
All dressed up to go a[D]way
First time I'd seen him smile in ye[G]ars
   He stopped loving her today[G]
        They placed a wr[G7]eath upon his d[D]oor
And soon they'll carry him a[D7]way
        He stopped loving her tod[G]ay
You know she came to see him one last t[G]ime
Oh and we all wondered if she wo[C]uld
And it kept running through my m[D]ind
This time he's over her for g[G]ood

I feel like it ought to be a C and not a D chord at the end of the phrase, "placed a wreath up on his door" - the D just doesn't sound right. I love the song, though, and the rest of it is wonderful ... thanks for this!
