This Old Guitar  John Denver

    C - G - Am - Em F - G - C - Em - Am - C F - G

   [C]                         [-]  [G]      [Am] [Em]
1. This old guitar taught me to sing a love song,

[F]                                    [G] [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C]
it showed me how to laugh and how to cry.

                [F]                    [G]
It introduced me to some friends of mine,

[C]                           [Em]         [Am] [-] [C]
and brightened up some days,

         [F]                           [G] [C] [-] [Em] [Am]
it helped me make it thru some lonely nights. Oho.

                  [F]                  [G] [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C] [-] [F] [-] [G]
What a friend to have on a cold and lonely night.

   [C]                         [-]  [G]      [Am] [Em]
2. This old guitar gave me my lovely lady,

[F]                                [G]    [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C]
it opened up her eyes and ears to me.

           [F]                         [G]
It brought us close together,

               [C]           [Em]          [Am] [-] [C]
and I guess it broke her heart,

         [F]                          [G] [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C]
it opened up the space for us to be.

                 F - G C - Em - Am - C - F - G

What a lovely place and a lovely space to be.

   [C]                          [-]  [G]     [Am] [Em]
3. This old guitar gave me my life, my living,

[F]                                    [G] [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C]
and all the things you know I love to do.

           [F]                      [G]
To serenade the stars that shine

                [C]           [Em]         [Am] [-] [C]
from a sunny mountain-side,

[F]                                [G]    [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C]
and most of all to sing my songs for you.

[F]                  [G]                  [C] [Em] [Am] [C]
I love to sing my songs for you. Yes I do, you know

[F]                        [G]            [C] [-] [Em] [-] [Am] [-] [C] [-] [F] [G]
and I love to sing my songs for you. M m.

    [C]     [Em]   [-]  [Am]   [-]  [C]    [F]    [G]         [C] [Em] [Am] [-] [C] [F] [G]

It would help to put chord symbols over the word where it needs to be changed.
