Sunday morning comming down  Kris Kristofferson

[C]Well I woke up Sunday morning
With no w[F]ay to hold my h[G7]ead that didn't h[C]urt
And the beer I had for breakfast was'nt [Am]bad
So I had one more for des[G7]ert
Then I f[C]umbled thru my closet for my cl[F]othes
And found my cleanest dirty sh[C]irt     [Am]
And I [F]shaved my face & c[Dm]ombed my hair
St[F]umbled down the st[G]airs to meet the d[C]ay     [F]    [C]
I'd smoked my brain the night before on cigarettes
And songs that I'd been pickin'
But I lit my first & watched a small kid cussin'
at a can that he was kickin'
Then I crossed the empty street & caught the Sunday
Smell of someone fryin' chicken
And it took me back to something that I'd lost
Somehow, somewhere along the way

Cho...  [C]On the Su[C7]nday morning s[F]idewalks
Wishin' Lord that I was st[C]oned
        'Cause there's something in a S[G]unday
That makes a body feel al[C]one
        And there's n[C7]othin' short o' d[F]yin'
Half as lonesome as the s[C]ound
        On the sleepin' city side[G]walks
        Sunday morning comming d[C]own
In the park I saw a daddy, with a laughing little
Girl that he was swinging
And I stopped beside a Sunday school
And listened to the song that they were singing
Then I headed back for home & somewhere
far away a lonely bell was ringing
And it echoed thru the canyons
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.

Cho.....

Cho.....
