Hello Chordie, am I asking too much by wanting some imperfection? I have been thinking recently if only I could write a song that came to me like rain into a drought. Lyrically written with a crooked phrase that only a cracked throat could deliver. Not perfect with a raw edge sung by a voice that has wept and forgotten why. At this present moment I don't want to hear a song from a writer whose musical garden is without a single weed, What I am looking for is the weed, the thorn, the bitten fruit, the finger bleeding on the rose. Maybe when performed live or in a recording there is a pause where the singer has forgotten the words and made them new. Maybe I'm weird and the only one with this point of view??????

Well, the “Dog Days” of Summer were supposed to be over on August 11th, but down here in the American South, they’re lingering to the point of heat advisories having been issued from noon till 8 pm all week.

With temps of 94 and a heat index of 108 degrees, I’ve been staying in and hydrating. How about you, my dear friends? Staying cool? Weather-wise, I mean. I know how cool y’all are otherwise.

Transposing About 12 Chord Changes

Hey everyone,

That was my dilemma trying to transpose a popular Platters song tonight.

I know there must be a way to "satisfy" the requirement of transpositioning, but leave it to me to "bump into" at least one of the difficult changes I was trying to avoid. This particular song has a "healthy" part of any morning's breakfast, with plenty of D9, D11, etc,.

I believe I may be going about this the wrong way. Instead of finding a song that I can sing to match the chords I know to my voice, I guess I'm trying to find song I can play easily. *LOL*

Anyone else running into this?

the other day i watched an excellent interview of Shawn Lennon by Rick Beato.
i knew little of lennons music or him, apart from the obvious.
he had an interesting comment on Ai,which really got me thinking.So i decided to
try with an open mind to listen to some Ai music and try and make a considered opinion
on its value.
conclusion
all of the music i usually listen to,i can most of the time identify who the artist is by their sound/style. etc.
it seems to me because Ai music is a combination of many millions of artists all mixed together, you
get a kinda soulless perfection, not an individual sound of an artist.
maybe its the future.im not sure.
what do you think?

And how are you able to keep from singing flat or sharp when you come to a chord change? Do you stop and hum again?

Years ago I put a song on a service whose name I can't recall now. It was a Harry Nilsson tune called "Lime In The Coconut" . Do y'all remember when I did that?

Well, I found out since then that the song isn't played in any normal key or chord. It's just sung.

I don't know how accurate that is, but maybe one or two of you could look it up and let me know?

I forgot the rules about posting/not posting songs here, sorry, folks.

Between now and the last time I posted, I got myself hospitalized with a heart attack.

After a week in ICU they finally discharged me with a whole new list of meds and instructions.

I thought that after Dondra died, I had been knocked to my knees enough as far as arrogance is concerned, but apparently not.

I was still too arrogant for my own good, so I need to work on that.

I was just noodling and I found this lovely chord but I cant identify it, can someone please help?

behind the 6th frett it's an Aminor shape with open A and E strings it sounds sweet if you play it from the barred D chord. it's basically a Dbm but as I said with an open A and E. Any help will be appreciated.

Leider bin ich sprachlich nicht in der Lage, in so einem Forum, in Englisch zu kommunizieren.
Gestern hat CHORDIE überhaupt nicht mehr funktioniert.
