Actually .009's are easier to bend because there a thinner gauge. Because there thiner gauge they also break easier.

What size strings are you using? Best is 10-11 and after it is hard to bend. I "push up" instead of "pulling".

If the multifingered bend approach doesnt help, you should buy lighter gauge strings.

try using 2-3 fingers to bend the string. one finger usually isn't enough. place 3 fingers on adjecent frets, and **Push**(don't pull) the string upwards, this will increase your power...

It sounds like you need to gain some more finger strength. Do you play an electric, or acoustic guitar? How long have you been playing?

i have seen lots of solos where you need to bend notes. Ive been told that to bend to pull the string upwards while playing it. my problem is that i cant even bend one semitone (and in some solos you have to do 2!!). Is there something im doing wrong?
