Jim Dunlop 73mm Plectrum. Absolutely nothing else works for me. tried em all. fecked without them. Can ring around and pick up anything if I were stuck, but the JD 73 is my 'cant do without'..

Probably my favorite is the Boss TU-2 Tuner and a delay pedal... I do lots of opening tuning and the pedal makes it easy to stay in tune...the delay (just a little) adds lots of depth

My jetslide ring. Love being able to go from normal fretting to slide playing without having to fumble with getting a slide on my finger, or only have 3 fingers to use.

Also my voodoo lab pedal switcher.

strings and amps are a given... we're talking about things other than what is actually needed for sound to ensue when plucking the strings...

I picked the Boss Micro BR because it allows me to record my musings when I'm just banging out some chords for inspiration... allows me to get a rough framework down for working with... also allows me to play quietly using headphones and jam along to mp3's with the speed slowed down and the pitch remaining the same. It also allows me to pitch shift an mp3 so I can jam along without having to retune or fit a capo...

Couldn't do without the RIGHT kinda strings. I bought a guitar a couple months ago and changed five times in two weeks, trying to find what sounded right.
Plus a stringwinder... lol. they come in handy.

For me, it's the hot, eager, young (female) groupies that is the most essential part of my playing experience. I just can't wait until I they start showing up.

Tuner and capo. I'm with Pix been playing for years still use a tuner. I must have a least 6 scattered throughout cases and the house. Capo is key. too.

My Tuner.... Yea, I admit it I still have a hard time getting it tuned perfectly by ear. I'm constantly grabbing the tuner to fine tune... I'd be lost with out it.

I started, stopped and erased my entry here three times before deciding on what I really wanted to say. Absolutely essential and barring everything else get a guitar that you love to play. Everything else is superfluous. So, what is that guitar for you? I want to know.

I agree with upyerkilt. None of us could play without strings and some sort of amplifier for those of us that choose to play electric.
