Yep, absolutely. http://tascam.com/product/us-122/specifications/

Multitrack recording with these things requires a little bit of knowledge about your DAW software, but once it's set up, it's a cake walk. It will also let you hook up higher end mics, rather than using USB mics. Here is a good article on selecting an audio interface. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov04/a … sician.htm

Regarding your comments on getting close to the mic, dynamic mics like yours are intended for vocal and close amp use and are designed to handle high volumes. Getting right up on it is how you will get the best sound out of it. If you're looking for a "room" mic, then a condenser mic like I listed above is what you want. Those things will pick up every footstep and gnat belch within 50 feet.

What software are you using to record with?

Thanks Amy. I will check into those ideas for sure. I do know I have a long way to go. This is just a start, but I sure am having fun. I have learned a lot of things about my singing and playing from watching my videos. That's a good thing. And I do know now that it is easier to play in front of people than wait for that red recording light to come on. Sometimes it flusters me so much that I end up redoing the song about 5 times. That's nerve racking.

Better than a mixer is to use some cheap software like mixcraft which is excellent. This will then allow you to record guitar into one track and edit any errors and when you are happy with it, record a seperate vocal track. This would be way cheaper than buying the gear for a second mic plus the second mic itself. It would also allow you to add drum loops etc as a backing and you will be well on the way to getting some quality results. Nice job already thought keep it going.

In an effort to make my sound better, I noticed that if I sing directly into the mic, it sounds better, or if I put the mic directly in front of the guitar, it sounds better. So far I am placing the mic somewhere in between, but I know the sound can be better. So, this brings to mind using two mics, but the PC will only recognize one or the other, if I am reading correctly. Keep in mind I am using a USB mic (they have come a long way and sound great). Is there software available that will allow me to use two USB mics? Or do I need a mixer. And will a simple mixer work well with the computer? I really want to do better, but I need help.

Thanks for all the nice comments. It does my heart good. Just using a pick, dino. I like to randomly pick notes as I play the chords. Gives it an extra something. Totally random arpeggios, but I think I do get a pattern or two in there once in a awhile. I will be doing more of course, now that it's in my blood and exciting too. I guess next I need to learn how to edit the songs. For now I just record them the best I can, leaving in the mistakes and all.
