Nice job Jan you gave it a kind of reggae feel .Some of the phrasing in this song is hard ,I sometimes struggle ,I like your version ,it's good to see how others interpret a song. This is a good thread.

Yep know the feeling Grah ........ life gets busy sometime for sure

Ok...... I am in catch up mode with songs. I have put up my attempt at the song `Cloak of Invisibility`. It was a little bit of a rush job, so the beginning is a bit to fast and i did hit a bum note lol. Guitar playing not the best either but i enjoyed trying to play and sing this one. I like the meaning behind it. Wouldn't mind improving on this one when i get the time. https://soundcloud.com/ukulelejan/cover … visibility

(Edit by Jandle to add sound cloud link)

Hi Jan ,been a bit tied up of late and preoccupied with new house project ,new car and ongoing throat problems.I've listened to all the versions and I must applaud the artists who covered the songs each had its own slant which I think is how a cover should be attempted.Well played every one.

HI everyone, nice to be back and I have been busy catching up on everyone's performances since i have been away I have left comments on Sound Cloud for all of you

So starting off with:

Zurf ..........on Cloak of Invisibilty ....... you picked your guitar so well in this song, really good and a good performance by you.
Zurf ....... on Mother (a Punks Version)...... I loved how you played this on your guitar, it was awesome.

Roger ...... on Cloak of Invisibilty .... very heartfelt version, can hear it in your version of this song.
Rgoer ..... on Mother ......... i liked how you performed this song and your arrangement of it.

Beamer ...... on Mother (Acoustic Version) ........I liked this version the best of your two versions, it suited your voice and it just worked ... PLUS i did hear and liked the added heart pulse and line at the end.
Beamer .... on MOther (Heavy) .... though i am not into heavy metal or heavy music, i expected it of you and you did it justice, well done.

Beamer great to see also you have commented on people`s versions of your songs....................... Grah wondering where your comments are and what your thinking of peoples versions of your song?

I went back to listen, and find the heartbeats... I think what happened is that they were so "faint" compared to the guitar that they were difficult to hear. Of course, I can't listen to metal too loud so my volume wasn't turned up. I had to turn it up purposely to hear the heartbeats. I also wasn't wearing headphones. I think maybe if you put that clip in to start toward the end of the guitar - louder - while fading the guitar out quickly, it would work! I like what you were aiming at with it!

I also commented on both songs, but I think the heavy one may not have gone through. The heavy feels like it needs drums to be more complete, but the acoustic feels complete as is. I personally enjoyed the acoustic more, but I like how the heavier versions lyrics flow better (like Zurf said above). I still WILL at some point get to my pitiful version. LOL! I PROMISE!!!

I listened during lunch at work. With the acoustic versions (my own included), it seems like it's really hard to keep things moving steadily while including the lyrics for both the pipe and the paint. Your punk, electric version overcomes that, I think, and so in my opinion is a better treatment of the song. Keep up the good work.
