Well, I guess what I have found is this.
I wish I had found ukulele and guitar in my younger years, even youth, rather than my later years, when my children had grown up and I found time to get interested in playing some kind of instrument.
I wish I had learnt harmonica and piano as well.
I wish I had found singing and recording when I was younger, rather again in my later years.
l wish I had found performing in a group (would love to have played in a band of some sort) when I was younger too.
Now I find, if I don't perform each week like I used to in our little weekly ukulele group, vocals and ukulele start to go downhill and it's hard to get back up.

Bill, I spent nigh on 50 years playing and singing to big crowds and small crowds. I always said when it stops being fun I'll stop performing. Well a couple of gigs after lock-down I realized I wasn't enjoying the driving, the lifting and carrying, the singing for 2-3 hours then loading the car up again and driving home while listening to good music...I realized at the age of 72 the fun had gone. I much preferred sitting in my studio writing and recording songs and occasionally making backing tracks for friends was what I enjoyed more than applause and a few quid in my pocket. Do I dream about performing now? Oh yes. Do I think I can still command an audience? Mmmm don't rightly know. Have I had offers to join bands? Yeah. Do I want to? No.
I hope that answers your question?
