Piri, I like discovering hidden gems of language everywhere I have gone or have learnt about in the world. Slang really gives each area its own personality and that applies in New Zealand also. Slang and words change over time and generations everywhere. Even here in Johnsonville or Jville as it also known years ago people would refer to Alexmore Park a sports ground in this suburb as the Rec ( Pronounced Wreck) Rec was a short form of the word recreation. Nowadays if you said I'm going to the rec many wouldn't know what it is or where I'm referring to.

Jim, thank you for your research into Symphatic and maybe I will post further down the line some Kiwi slang to see if people can guess what the meaning is. I will check out your song and leave you a comment after doing this.

"Symphatics" is not a standard English word.

Others that are close....................

Sympathetic — showing understanding, compassion, or support.
"She was sympathetic to his situation."
Sympathies — feelings of pity or understanding.
"You have my sympathies."
Sympathetics — a less common plural form referring to sympathetic people or things related to sympathy.

Ta Pedr, we Welsh have a few too, although Cymro (Welsh folk) isn't strictly slang! Up the valleys if you called someone "right beaut?" It would be a complement, her in Llanelli: " you're a right beaut" might get you punched.
Some of your slang I've heard before and a couple I can guess at, but that's the best I can do, I'm guessing "shaky isles" refers to the fact you are quite well acquainted with earth quakes? We're well used to them too especially when I'm on the "thunder jug" lol. I love a good "Ruby Murry from the chuck away "

Chur Piri, my head is choka with Kiwi slang words that blokes and sheila's use here in Wellywood and out in the wops and even words used by many a Jafa. I won't include slang words used by yobos here on the Shaky Isles. If my noggin wasn't so munted I would chunder more of them out. I hope I have given you a few good Kiwi slang words in this reply.

Great poem Pedr. I reminds me of an American musician called Seasick Steve who would search bins and skips for likely scrap that would create a musical sound. A lot of his creations made 3 stringed instruments and he sang along with amusing words. I once saw him do a gig in one of the big music festivals and had John Paul Jones, of Led Zeppelin fame on bass.
I'm amazed at how you come up with these subjects and write them so eloquently. I'd love to see some of the NZ slang words?

Wow amazing video to watch Peatle, I love true stories like that. All it took was one person to come up with an idea, make it happen and it helped so many young people find a purpose, find enjoyment, find talents they never knew they had. Wonderful.

I was friendly with Harry Orsman who passed away years ago he was a linguist and a lexicographer who wrote a dictionary called New Zealand Book Of Slang. Through conversation with Harry I have often thought it would be good to invent a new word. So I have come up with a new word symphatics which hopefully I have invented. Symphatics the sound created by every day objects to make music. To launch my new word I have put it in the poem below. To show an example of everyday objects being used in new ways I will attach a video also.

Booked Tin Cuddle band
In a town where the music was in decline
Lived a band with a sound that had been refined
The "Booked Tin Cuddle", don’t be misled
They’re like cats singing tunes in your head
Keeping you awake while your in bed
With ukuleles made from old tin cans
And tambourines shaken by winged fans
