Go to the Public books section and you can search for easy or beginner songs. I trawl through the public books quite often, looking for inspiration or just a song I haven't heard for years.
Well worth a look.

Just search through Chordie, there's thousands of songs with lyrics and chords.

Just choose a song you like and try it. If you don't recognize the sound of the song when you try playing just leave it and move on to the next one.

There are lots of great tabs on Chordie but also a lot of bad ones. Just keep trying.

Try playing some Cold Play, Crowded House or Verve. Some of the songs are not difficult to play and with a bit of practice sound really impressive.

Push yourself and learn to smoothly change as many chords as you can, then you'll find that most songs are beginners songs.

Whats up people,

I just picked up an acoustic, and i'm learning the basic chords pretty well. Please post some suggestions of some good beginner songs. So far I can play the following (not great though)

green day - time of your life
staind - outside
pearl jam - last kiss
CCR - bad moon rising

please throw some newbie songs down.
