Hi Elsie, I went away about 1.5 hours from home- my personal experience is I would highly encourage it if you can swing it or put into the plan. The growth I gained living on my own, the networking, the social skills, the school events, and even how to learn to live with others completely different than you. Yes- there is partying and fun- but I still would never change what I did.
