I have an electric guitar.  I played it through an electric amp that was ruined.  I replaced it with an acoustic amp.  I actually like the sound better.  I think the main difference is that acoustic amps don't all have effects loops while electrics do.  There are probably also some voicing differences in the loudspeakers.  It's all what you've got.  I'll play an electric through my bass amp if it comes down to it.  Use what you've got and save your pennies to get what you want.

Well, I dropped a file cabinet on my index finger of my picking hand today.  It separated the knuckle and I'm pretty sure broke the tip.  I reset it bound it up OK, but I won't be playing any finger pick songs for a while.  I'm still up for giving it a go with campfire strummers.

You bet.

I've got Duncan in my line up.  He's too quick with the chord changes on most of his songs for me to play.  Joseph Shablala's bass riff in You Can Call Me Al had me saying "you can't do that with a bass" the first time I heard it.

Uh oh zguitar, you've done it now!

(I can see the image fine here)

The one on Sunday is what I'd call a test-of-concept.  If it works, we'll do more and you'll be welcome to join in triple j.  Count on it.

The Loar makes an interesting acoustic arch-top in that price range.  I don't know what's wrong with a Blueridge, though I definitely understand the desire to buy another guitar.

Nice looking bass.  Who wouldn't want a Fender bass?

I am so completely domesticated that it took me a while to notice the attractive girl playing it.

Or at least put a little smear of cream cheese at the corner of your mouth.

Get back to playing!

He's amazing and while I'll never be that good, it's good to know we live in a world where someone is.

We may have some diddling about and trouble-shooting to do at the beginning of the call.  That's why we're calling it a test.  If necessary, everyone can share contacts at the beginning of the call.

That's good advice bigbob99.  Thanks.  Next time I'm in my favorite shop, I'll take a look for that book.  I've got a similar one for bass and for some reason just never considered one for guitar.

How's this for a test time? Sunday the 26th,  3 P.M. US Eastern Time.  I believe that is 1 P.M. for Pete and BGD and 8 P.M. for Roger and Normtheguitar.

Folks for the test run:
Zurf
BGD
topdown
bensonp
normtheguitar
Roger Guppy
mekidsmom (and her kids)

Is that OK?

- Zurf

That's why we're going to test.   The instructions in Skype don't mention that.  But I've read enough tech manuals to know just how accurate they usually are.

Not me.  I can sometimes get a bass riff, but not too often.

I forget who recommended Zoe Muth, but she's FANTASTIC!

I think Music Row is a business/tourist area, so hopefully you'll be in good shape for getting around.

I just sent Topdown a request.  So now I've got Mekidsmom, BGD, Roger Guppy, Topdown (soon), Bensonp, and Normtheguitar.  This will do for a test.

I'll pick three times on a weekend.  Out of these folks, and any others who connect with my on Skype by then, pick the most convenient times in order.  The time with the best score wins.

This may have something to do with a search on Zurf.

I'll do a search for topdown67 today.
