This morning everything was dry so I've used my plunge router to cut out the rough hole. I left 1/8 of an inch on the edges. The remainder will be removed via the dremel with a sanding wheel and then finished by hand with paper. Here's a pic of the rough cut...

Now I'm using the dremel to sand to the score line that I made earlier. I was impressed with the camera on this shot. My son took it, that dremel is variable speed and was set at about 15,000rpm! You can almost count the grains of sand on the paper when it's full size. Thought it was pretty good for a Canon Power Shot A530..

Hello Torquil! Welcome to Chordie! It's a pleasure to have you with us

I'm seriously considering putting a sound port in my '95 S&P Pro rosewood as a weekend project... Just wondering if anyone else has one and what their opinions are from the players perspective. Any bad experiences with them? Everyone I've talked to so far has loved theirs but it still scares me that there is a chance it could have an adverse affect on tone.. I'm taking a little more of a chance doing it on a solid wood guitar but the only laminate sided guitars I own are my Yairi's and I just can't bring myself to cut into one of those before trying it on another first.
I think I'm more or less using this post to talk myself into it
Getting nervous now that I have the tools laid out and the guitar in my hands
What says my fellow Chordians... Take the chance at improving the guitar??
I think playing with others would be the best thing for you at this point. It's amazing how much you pick up by playing along with other guitarist. You can find them at music stores, Craigs List, Church.... I've found that most guitarist will jump at the chance to play with others no matter what the skill level is. It's really amazing and beautiful how music can bring all likes together
Other than that I'd say work on scales, barre chords, walking transitions, etc... Some may seem tedious but they are well worth it, stay with them and one day it'll click and a whole new world will open up for you. Set yourself a goal song, one that you've been wanting to play but have so far viewed as "out of reach". Go ahead and tackle it! You'll often be surprised at how simple the intimidating things turn out to be with a little practice!
Last but not least stick around the forums
Lot's of great people with lots of experience here that are more than willing to help you on this journey! Welcome to chordie!! Peace! -Pix
Yea, I was just checking 'em out and really like their work! Great Stuff! Thanks for sharing! -Pix
Hey Cam, The links not working...
You got me curious though, so I did a quick search
Could this be it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjzQtd6W8FI
LOL.. I guess I could have misunderstood the question.. It depends on Query's meaning in the original post... Search query for a song?? Or query as in a question?? With reply being used, I assumed it was to a question that was posted
Since this is your first post on Chordie, Are you sure it was here??
Usually hide or titebond is recommended but for a plastic bridge you'll probably have to go the super glue route. I don't think hide or wood glue would bond well with the bridge. Your best option (IMO) would be to get a replacement wood bridge that will fit or cover the old glue area. They're fairly inexpensive and will be an improvement in tone. With a wood bridge I'd go with titebond on a uke. Hide glue holds better but is a pain to prep and a uke doesn't have the string tension of a steel string so it will hold the bridge fine. Be sure to properly prep the glue area by removing any old glue and lightly sanding. Proper clamping is also a must for a secure fix. A simple wooden jig can be made for about 3 bucks that works nicely. Keep us updated on your project
Best of luck -Pix
The Beautiful Girls!!
Discovered the band about 7 months ago and they have quickly became my all around favorite artist...
Well the sheriff was on the take and was pushing a bad rap on Bob... The deputy was a straight up dude and wouldn't stand for it so the sheriff shot him. Bob struggled with the sheriff and ended up shooting him in self defence... But they where trying to pin both murders on him to keep the sheriffs name clear.
In truth though, Sheriff was another way of saying Justice ,according to Marley. So I guess he was saying that he was against the law system but not the people that were "just doing their jobs"...
Policeman handle the towns/cities
State troopers handle the highways laws and DOT Enforcement
Sheriffs and deputies handle mainly domestic calls in their jurisdiction
Anyone with BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training) can run for the office of Sheriff.

i dont think theory is that important, guitar is about soul, not knowing hundreds of ways to play a G
i have never bothered with theory and i doubt i ever will because i just dont think i need to, as long as i can play with feeling then i will be happy
At one point megs I'd agree with you, I had no desire to learn music theory. Didnt think I needed it. They offered it at the school I went to and I thought the same as you, it comes from the heart and soul. But now I know 15 yr olds who learned theory and play with more soul then anyone I know. Just my opinion
That's the funny thing about learning guitar... The more you learn, the more you realize you have/need to learn. When people ask me how much I know about playing I always say "I know just enough to know that I don't know nearly enough"
Try these out..

This one uses open chords.. I usually don't recommend this guys lessons... The few I've seen before were way off, but this one seems okay for giving you the idea of the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yIADVEVfII
Tops, You going to carry a fishing rod? Some of the best surf fishing on the east coast as well.
Man Buvvy that sounds awesome! It's hard to beat good surf, campfires, stringalongs and singalongs
Man we had a place on Ocean Isle till about 12 years ago. I pretty much grew up there. Our family farm is only 20 minutes away and my house is about 40 minutes away... Never can tell, Could have met you on one of those vacations
Looking forward to the pics
cameronkl7 wrote:That looked great Guitarpix, thanks for sharing. I tried surfing a few times when I was younger, without much success, but that was a great shot. Your close to the beach, do you ever surf?
Cam
I used to surf really heavy when I was younger... I still manage to grab a board several times a year but nothing like I use to. I still skate a lot though
Toney, Funny enough, My first roll is one of my best surfing memories. I remember lying on the bottom and watching the wave pass by from underwater... It was beautiful and is etched in my mind from 20 some odd years ago.
Top's, Man, You've got to rent some boards and have a go again!! Nothing like that feeling
Sharing it with your son too...yeah
Sounds great selso! Never made it to the west coast but would love to some day. Much better waves there. The best I get around here are the Banks and Carolina Beach, but they're not bad.
Welcome aboard Jason! Epilepsy is rough, I wish you and all that suffer with it the best. Bravo, for keeping your chin up and pressing on! They say the measure of a man isn't how hard he can hit, but rather, how hard he can get hit and keep going!
My Uncle had epilepsy... He was a great man whom everyone loved and supported, but ,unfortunatly, he really struggled with it and took his own life several years back...... It affects more than just the ones that suffer from it.... Thanks for raising awareness! -Pix
I was just watching some surfing videos on youtube and came across this amazing slo-mo HD footage. If you have a HD monitor be sure to watch it in HD format & on full screen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BOhDaJH0m4 Just thought it was really cool and wanted to share it... Peace! -Pix
If you're in the UK you can watch the full 9 minute clip but Americans can't view it
That's the way I understand it... I could be wrong about pandora though, since I'm not too familiar with it. -Pix
I've never used pandora but ,from what I understand, it's basically an online radio station. You can listen to pretty much anything there for free but I don't think you can actually download them for cd burning or mp3. Limewire is a sharing site were people illegally download music, computer programs, movies and such.
