Jandle wrote:Ok, I managed to fit another FSOTM song in tonight ~Sylvia`s Mother~ ........... brought back memories of a song we used to sing years ago. It was definately a very quick take tonight as the hour is getting late over here and it`s time for some sleep. My second take ........... still trying to learn guitar again and cajon was not the best but to tired to do another take.

That's an interesting take - I didn't see it that way, but maybe the original post should read something along the lines of "you can challenge anyone else within the context of the songs mentioned" ... ('cause I made the same mistake, but mine was just me getting carried away with a session of playing and recording, because the wife and kids went to bed early, and I got some rare time to myself ....)
Cheers
Depending on your guitar, look up Tronical tuners ...

I usually find people who are good at maths excel at music (however, not all have the muscle memory/co-ordination required) ... tell him to join Chordie!!

Meanwhile, I was curious about the world and slightly confused by music ....
Yer, I was going to say "welcome", but I'm not quite sure if that's the right thing to say ... but "congrats on your first post" in the same vein as welcome ... ??
[confused, but wishing well]
You'll need to download the chordpro version of the song ... click on the "eye" (view), then get to the chordpro version - then copy and paste the text from the song into a text editor and save it locally on the iPad ... I can't remember if "Set Lyst" has a specific place it looks, such as the iCloud drive, or if it does the editing itself ... I seem to remember after trying them all out, that OnSong was the best of them all, although it is a bit pricey now ... HTH!!

The guitar was good, but the vocals were a bit low

Sounds Dylanish to me
Thanks ...

This was written in another duo, I wrote most of the music to this, did the lyrics in conjunction with the other half (Phil) and he sang it:

Enjoy!
Jandle wrote:neophytte ........ well played on the house of the rising sun ............ you even had the sun shinning in through your window
Thanks - although that wasn't deliberate
Welcome!
I'm a bit confused by the "doesn't store files" thing too ... as I wanted to upload some of my own songs ... however if you have them in OnSong, I'd be happy to take a copy, just send me a PM
Cheers

Lyrics schmyrics. I never get them right.
I thought that was for effect ... !!

House of the rising sun: https://youtu.be/Tzyt1vBfMEw - I'm also putting up some acoustic versions of my original songs on YouTube, if you're feeling bored and want to look around

This was the title track from my duo's second CD:
http://neophytte.mine.nu/audio/mp3/Ganesha.mp3
Recording this was fun - the guitar was so loud and I seem to recall we placed the amp in the toilet (next to the recording studio) to control the feedback better - and the keyboard player and I kept the same line going. With some words recorded from a radio station I used to work at, but I'm not sure who spoke them ...
Enjoy!
When I say 'song', we programmed the old Mac to talk, as was the fashion in the 90's

I don't think we ever used the guitar track for this music, although I seem to recall we did record one ... it was an attempt to get more into the 'electronic' dance thing with the duo ...
Enjoy!
Cheers, I forgot to add Alan is the keyboard player, and made a bunch of tracks, which I edited via MIDI ...
This song was written and recorded with my duo partner, Alan Burke, with both of us sharing the main vocals.
