I am not going to argue on the history or grammatical usage of profanity don't push it Chordie is a family site and profanity is not acceptable I don't need an English lesson just don't repeat it.
christopaul wrote:As a world wide forum, there will be phrases or expressions that have different meanings or connotations. I accept that you find the word unacceptable and had I used it in a different context it could have been regarded as nasty.
Nasty implies that offence was intended. The context in which I used the word the intention was very much the opposite. In some company "sissies" may come across as a far more offensive word.
Had you said the word is unacceptable, that's ok. I do object to the word being removed and described as nasty.
You typed the 4 letter word for excrement in describing the S*&t hot guitarist that is not allowed period.
christopaul wrote:Nasty word removed?
Looks great! I am ordering one today thanks
yes danny this is called chord voicing the same thing a choir dose most of the chords are altered to allow the leading tone to dominate which gives the effect of a melody
dannylake wrote:Thank you too Russell. I guess someone would write a chord progression that follows the song melody since you don't want to play the same thing as your rhythm player, correct?
Thanks for the info I googled it and that's the capo I was thinking about
topdown wrote:I have a Kyser, Dunlap and G7th - All work well, but the G7th is the best IMO due to it's small size and ease of use. They are pricey, but G7th makes an awesome capo.
I have used a Kyser for many years it works well with the Strat neck there is one I would like to try but I don't know the name of the brand its a metal capo that I have seen on videos of some recording artists sort of curved

Call a doctor? Call a hooker
I have a Strat made in China the Standard S 101 I don't notice any difference between mine and one of my students American Strats I did switch necks opting to replace the rosewood with a maple and remove one of the springs the intonation is dead on
westieq wrote:If you want a top quality guitar for a decent price, I suggest a Japanese made Fender Strat or Tele. They rival and at times even exceed the quality of the USA made Fender Custim Shop ones. The MIJ or CIJ's generally have 7.5" to 9.5" radius "C" necks. Great for rhythm and lead bending.

danny every song has a progression or arrangement there is no specific name for the chord progression after the intro or after the bridge its just an arrangement I have heard it referred to as the head or the top of the song it dose not mean 1 4 5 necessarily it can be any progression harmonized or not the song as a whole is the arrangement.
dannylake wrote:Thanks Balddude, but what I'm referring to is a lead chord progression between the intro and bridge-bridge and outtro . Sometimes much more complicated than a simple 1,4,5. I think it might also be called chord harmonization? Or harmonizing a lead?
I have found over the years that the picking hand controls volume, rhythm, expression, three key elements in making your guitar transfer the emotions your feeling into melodies and your fretting hand controls the precision and execution of a given set of notes or chord progression both work in unison to make simple chords or melodies into an art form and as mentioned scales play an important role in developing these skills to allow you to effortlessly glide from one chord or note to the next when I play a solo I don't consciously think of what notes I am going to play or any riff it happens kind of like magic the chords progression lets me create the notes in my head and my fingers execute what I feel I don't know about other musicians it would be interesting to get other opinions on this
For bass the chord chart is a guide to playing the root note (lowest note) how you fill in the duration of the chord(beats) is up to you.
Eric Llanasa wrote:I have a question, bass guitar are same chord chart with electric guitar.
Thanks
Speaking for myself if I don't like the genre I don't listen to the music if I don't like the artist for whatever reason I wont listen and if there on tv I can always change the channel kanye west is an example of me not liking the artist or the genre (double wammy) I have a closed mind on some things which comes in handy.
I agree with Roger no 3 sounds like no 3rd some songs omit one of the intervals normally a C chord is C E G (135) no third would be C G C this is normally found in folk or Irish music
Phill I hope I didn't confuse you to much with my directions it sounds like you got off to a good start
I sent you an email I have time later today to video chat on gmail I can use my HD cam to show you my DP and what to do to get you recording right away it is an awesome machine not only in looks but man o man all the nice goodies

what site did you see them below $500 ?
jerome.oneil wrote:I've seen them below $500 the last couple of weeks, which is where I was looking for my price point. But since I detached my TASCAM US-800 from my desktop and threw it in my laptop bag, I've now got the multiple input portable studio I wanted all along.
But I still want the DP-24, just because it's so damn cool.
your welcome I agree that having a cutaway is defeating the purpose if the strings are too high to comfortably play them keep looking
harleyjim wrote:Hey, Thanks so much Russell for the youtube link. That really helped me make up my mind. The action on the strings is a definate downer, way to high for me. I also agree with with you Roger about the shallow body. Thank you very much for your comments.
the more I work with it I have to agree its cool lots of nice features and easy to get used to no big learning curve involved which reminds me I still have some tracks to lay I have seven finished and I will use at least 14 when I finish then mix it and master it to two stereo tracks tomorrow looks like a good day to get back into it I had a sore throat for a few days and it put a damper on my project but I feel much better and my voice has returned

this video kind of gives you an idea of the pros and cons of this guitar and from what I hear it sounds kind of cheesy without an amp I myself would not purchase it but to each his own I cant speak from experience having never played one but I have played other Fender acoustic guitars and can say honestly they are not worth buying in my opinion but before sinking any cash into this find a music store and play it first.
That is insane having to wait a month for delivery they should have air freighted it to you for what you had to pay sorry to hear about what your going through hopefully you will get it soon
I don't agree with most subversive especially for the 60s both songs are pretty mild in comparison to some of the folk songs Seeger,Dylan et al.
tonywild2001 wrote:Hi, First post. The Monkees were one of the most subversive bands of the 60's.
Check the lyrics to Pleasant Vally Sunday or Last Train To Clarksville. (Clarksville being the station closest to the airfield from where the soldiers flew to Vietnam)
he might be referring to Silk n Steel by martin but I aint sure and I have never heard of acrylic strings only colors for painting
