Oh its coming. I just haven't decided where to put it. I am guessing it will have to be on the headstock somewhere.
I haven't had the chance to plug it in and turn it up yet or tape any of my playing. I will say one thing though, this is the most mellow and smooth guitar I've ever owned. It's like it was built for the blues/soul music. Wow.
Playing it with the guitar volume high and the amp volume low gives this awesome breakup that I haven't been able to achieve before.
The pickups in my other guitar (The '51) hit the front of the amp too hard for subtle breakup to be achieved. The single coils in this guitar are mellow-city so I have a LOT more control over my sound now.

I think that the Squier Guitars are a real value nowadays.
There was a time when they were not so good.

Well, I think I did allright.
I got my new (used) strat today!
http://i.imgur.com/mY88r.jpg
I named him "Smokey" for the 3-color sunburst that's on him. I can't figure out what kind of bridge they put on it, but it's stable. I can dive and lift and it goes right back into tune (One of the things I was scared of dealing with on a strat)

The bridge pickup is just fine, I don't think I need a humbucker afterall right now. I can always put in my own humbucker at a later date like I did with my 51. The neck pickup is soooo warm compared to the single coil that was in the neck on my 51. I don't even need to put a charlie christian in the neck spot on this guitar...wow!

Well, now to get to know him and play some sweet sweet position 2&4 music!

toodles,

And this is my intended goal...
http://media.fmicdirect.com/squier/images/products/guitars/0310005532_frt_wlg_001.jpg

I'm about done with my Squire '51 telestrat. It's great for Jazz with the Charlie Christian I put in it...but I cannot get the strat tones that I seek with it. There is no other alternative BUT to get a strat for the John Mayer/Hendrix/gospel tones I am aiming for.

Position 2 has me by the soul-strings and there's no substitute for that fundamental sound.

I HAVE to have a strat!

Congrats man!
Keep up the great work!

Hi detman,I liked what you did but it was not very loud. do you have your firecrown and the blue on your guitar in a permanent state?

Sorry, i used my phone to record instead of my camera. the volume on the phone auto-levels too much.

Yes. They are semi-permanent. A design that I can remove and replace with others.

I used lexan for mine.

However, I did have a mate on the Squire '51 board make me a pickguard from wood veneer.
It cracked in shipping but I was able to glue it back together. I haven't mounted it on the guitar yet because I love my pickguard that I made so much.

Not like no one saw it coming...it was just a matter of when.

EDIT:
The wife said I was a cold bum when I told her that. I know it's someone's daughter/sister/lover (ugh) or friend...But come on, she was an alcoholic crackhead! I don't see anyone going to pieces when the crackheads back in NYC overdose or die from their addiction. But I'm supposed to feel something significant for some over-privileged rich-but-stupid rock star?

Please...Next news story.

I don't even update my FB anymore.
I realize that no one cares and I'm not that self-important...anymore.
In the end, it's just another social-information tool.
Nowadays, I use it just for that.

I don't recall being nieve enough to be fooled.  My little brother didn't have x-ray glasses but he did purchase some sunglasses (he was about 8 years old) with mirror on the INSIDE of the glasses to see behind him while we were in Daytona for vacation.  My sister and I were disgusted that he was looking at the gals in string bikini's without making an effort to turn his head, I think my dad was jealous!  LOL!

Lol, I had a pair of those.
I was going to get the silvered stuff put on my regular glasses about 10 years ago.

I hope so too.
The wife is looking for something to do on saturday so I'm hoping I can convince her that THIS will be it instead of going to hagerstown to visit other friends.

My wife will be out there on Saturday as well....she's not much of a camper but she will stomach it for one night because she knows it'll be a great music weekend.

Awesome! Perhaps we can "Pair them off" while we play?
