Try out a Fender model GA45sce they are awesome! You will get a beautiful guitar with your fishman electronics and built-in tuner as well. Just type in the model and read the reviews, they don't lie. I own one and I love that guitar, so do all my friends! cool

I also use only coated strings now (Elixir)..lights....they are expensive but are so worth it....I can't even play with the other strings now....I am spoilt....and regular strings feel like they have rust on them to me even if they are new...lol PS: If you try them (Elixir) and are a hard strummer....buy a stronger gauge string...not light as they will snap easily. wink

Hi, and welcome to the world of guitar. It is awesome fun. I am also a girl...much older than you (46), but I wish I had started at your age....I have been playing (self taught) for 2 1\2 years now and doing pretty good. I am from NB, Canada. wink

That is funny to read you (guitargal65) listed at least 3 of the 5 I would have picked...lol

1. Wish you were here - Pink Floyd

2. Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

3. Here without You - 3 Doors Down

4. Love You to Want Me - Lobo

5. Turn The Page - Bob Seger

Heck I could go on and on...I have a large song book! but love mostly old classics.Sherri.

Personally I too like Elixer strings. They are easier on my fingers and sound good too. I don't know who makes them or really care...lol But I did take note that the "light" strings break easy if you are a hard strummer. They are pricey though PS: I do fine that I am able to wear off the coating after 3 0r 4 weeks of playing, if I play alot. So I end up changing these strings every 3 months or so.
