This is a song that I wrote a long time ago. Couldn't remember how it went, so I gave it the "workover". added some chords, changed a few, different melody. You know, the "workover"!
Does She Still Love You
Words and Music by: Chuck Hollaman
Tuning: Eb tuning
5/8/09
Intro: G D C/G G D

G
Well he's sitting here,
D
Wonderin' what to do.
F/C C/G
Should he stay,
G D
Or should he leave you.
Verse: 2
G
If he should go,
D
Would he be missed at all.
F/C C/G
Or would someone else's pictures,
G D
Take his place on your wall.

Those's a very moving videos! It is time for people of the world to come together as one. To stop all the fighting and negativity and get along. if we were to do that then there would no need for wars! Thats what governments around the world thrive on.

You also have to take into account the length of the songs. Back in the 50's and 60's they were writing songs that were only 2 and 3 minutes long, where as in the 70's they were writing 10 and 15 minute long songs, and today there 4 and 5 minutes! And they tend to milk 'em for all there worth! Touring for 18 month's per album!

Okay, just trying to understand. That explaination makes sense. I do consider the human voice an instrument. Thanks.

getfiddle wrote:I agree with stevie ray. The Doors did alot of music based poetry. I have some Doors Cds where Jim Morrison did poetry while background music was playing. How do we explain that? But I'm glad we have the poetry section! So all is good. My 2 cents!
Very easily explained. Music + lyrics+= song. Lyrics + no music = poetry.
Then by your own reasoning, A person who sings songs with no musical accompaniment is only reciting poetry! They might differ with you on that one!

Excellent hobby Guitarpix! I once thought about learning how to build guitars, but when I found out the price of the tools and the material that goes into doing it, I relized I was to poor to afford them, so I decided it was to expensive a hobby! So I hunt, fish, camp, and float, and play guitar. I'm in the process of learning the ins and outs of recording. As soon as I get that process down I plan on putting some stuff online so people can hear what my songs sound like, instead of guessing! I too would be interested in seeing some of your work.

I always take my acoustic along cause you never know! Going on a float trip in mo. in July and of course the acoustic will be going along. Hope some other people bring theirs also! Last year I played solo. {I felt sorry for them} They were all gracious though!

Hey, Riverdales. Nice to hear from you. Any of those sayings are fine with me. Howdy back. Hows that side of Texas? Would be nice to be closer to the coast. Do you hunt and or fish? I like to do both, but haven't been a resident long enough to yet. I know I could buy an out of state license, but think I'll just wait the required six months instead! Save some money that way. Besides, I'm still looking for a job so I can help out my girlfriend. I'll just hit the range till then.

I think a singing section would be a great addition to Chordie! I myself could benifit from such a section thats for sure! I'm all for it. I've noticed that the only ones that seem to be against the idea just happen to be moderators! I also think the yea's outway the nay's! Just the way I see it. Don't mean to get anyone po'd, and hope I didn't.

I just moved to Plano, Texas. Just northeast of Dallas So far I love it here and was wondering if anyone on here lives anywhere close. Would like to get together and do some jamming, maybe record a little. I do like to do some writing and have some songs posted on chordie. Haven't posted anything for awhile though. But I have several tunes I've been working on, but have hit a snag with them. I'm not opposed to collaborating with the right person.

Makes a difference what key it's in. If you want to play along with the song, you'll need to be in the same key as the artist doing the song.
