Re: Changing strings--adjusting truss bar (2 replies, posted in Acoustic)
if you dont know what your doing best advice i can give is take it to the professionals. Besides the truss rod adjustment if for fix a bowed or humped neck. It should either be rattleing or muffled. not buzzing. and it should only doit on certain frets. thats what what fixes by adjustiong the rod. also you might snap the rod and end up tweaking your neck too bad if you dont do it right. Let a professional fix it for is the best thing to do. i dont mean to isult your intelligence but just in case.... bow... neck tweaked forwar toward the sound hole humped... neck tweaked back away from the sound hole. ANYWAY righty-tighty for the bow lefty loosy for hump. please figure out whats wrong before you atempt any adjustments oor you just might screw up worst. TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL! good luck phxce

Re: teel strSome help or advide regarding classical/spanish guitar please? (2 replies, posted in Acoustic)
nonsense.... dont just pick one... What ever you pick you should invest in it for the same reasons you invested in a marting or gibson... Picture yourself playing a $1000 dollar gibson.... now a $300 epiphone... totally not the same thing sound or quality but in the end theyll still sound very nice. Why cause its a good quality instrument. Same thing with the spanish.... Go to guitar center and play a $1000 alvarez then try a $300 Lucero... Same concept. Theyll still sound Excellent because both are ecellent instruments and establish brands... Ive been playing eight year devided equally between spanish and steel. If you want a quality instrument look into a LUCERO for lowest price yet good quality Alvarez for both mid price and quality to high dollar excellent quality or a CORDOBA for TOP DOLLAR WITH SUPERB QUALITY. I mean it sound like you know what your doing if you invested in martin and gibson you know what a guitar should sound like. Botton line get what feel good in you hands with most ease of playing. Best advice i can give is stay away from american brand of spanish guitars, although theyre good quality, IF YOU WANNA PLAY SPANISH GUITAR..... WOULDNT IT MAKE SENSE TO GET ONE FROM SPAIN???? STICK TO THE SPANISH BRAND MENTIONED ABOVE YOU WONT GO WRONG!!!!

Re: Are Esteban's any good (14 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I agree. I dont know if Id call them garbage but i do know theyre cheaply made. TIGERHOOD i dont know what you paid for the esteban guitar but ive seen some decent quality instruments for about 100 buck or a little over. I had great success with the takamine jasmine guitar. Decent quality and sound excellent, plus it plays good too! It cost me $130 with a cutaway.... eight years later I still have it and still play it everyday even though i have a $600 dollar dean! My jasmine still get more play. Yeah on a serious note get rid of it and look into low model takamines for a decent beginner instrument. I dont know what your skill is but Itll be worth it. and i promise you no one will laugh at you when you show up with a takamine! as for strings try the elixor poly web in a light guage. ask for lights. Theyre a bit pricey like 15 bucks but they sound awsome and last such a long time. Its all Ive ever used and so should you! GOOD PLAYING!
