Been playing now for 2-3 years. Just purchased an acoustic/electric and am interested in starting to record myself.

I need advice. What's the best place to start? I'm assuming a computer and software but is there additional hardware I may need?
Keep in mind I'm a beginner to this so starting simple is good.

HELP!

Been playing an Washburn acoustic for a few years and looking to upgrade to an Acoustic/Electric. I'm mostly into playing folk and classic rock. Lots of strumming open chords and some short leads when necessary. A new guitar will come first, then the amp will follow when adequate funds are availabele. I've been looking at the Tayle 210ce. Haven't looked at amps yet. Any opinions/suggestions for either?

Great reply thanks. I'm a little leary of the "sand and buff" comment. Won't this scratch the undamaged area surrounding the scratch?

I have a few large scratches in the top of my Washburn acoustic. 1/4" to 1/2 " long. I believe it has a clear lacquer finish and it looks like the scratches did not damage the spruce top.

Any advice on how to repair these?

Hello Chordites.
I'm looking for a second acoustic guitar and I only have $100 to spend.
I understand this is far fetched but does anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks in advance.

What is the best way to print a songbook. I have a songbook that contains 40 songs. When I go to print it the songs don't separate into pages but run as one long text file. To sort through this file and add page breaks would be a very tedius task. Is there a better way or can the songbook be exported?

Hello Fellow Chordites.

Recently I have been playing/teaching simple guitar songs with a friend. My skill sets are lower-itermediate, his skill sets are novice. I have been concentrating on playing songs with basic open chords (G, C, D, A, E) and simple variations (minors, 7, 9).

I am looking for songs that are split for 2-guitars.
Example:
Guitar 1 strumming a chord pattern
Guitar 2 using a picking pattern

or

Both guitars strumming chords using different strum patterns

etc.....

Suggestions?

Thanks ApeDoctor. I will look into Claptons version of Classical Gas.

As far as the picking or strumming question it doesn't matter which one. I'm just looking for playable intrumentals at the lower intermediate level.

Blackbird (Beatles) was one of the very first songs I learned to finger pick and I agree, it is a beautiful song. Anyone who is looking for a fun, playable, easy on the ears song should consider it. CLASSIC, CLASSIC, CLASSIC.

Any more suggestions out there?

Hello fellow chordites...
I have been playing easier strum along songs for about a year now. Nothing too difficult but beyond beginner (Free Fallin', Stuck In The Middle, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Cheesburger In Paradise, Bad Moon Rising, Blackbird, etc). Classic Rocker here. I am now looking for some melodic, lyricless, tunes that draw more attention to string play and less to vocals.
I am open to any Genre.
Suggestions?

Harlow Wilcox & the Oakies - Groovy Grubworm

It's older but sounds simple and fun.

Good luck.

The version suggested does "not" have the intro tabbed (refer to tab comments). Sooooo, I am still looking for a solution to the original post. Anymore suggestions?

Thanks for all the help so far.

daddycool,
Thanks for the attention to my post. Unfortunatley I can't find a "version 5" or a version that has the intro tabbed on the first three frets. I'm sure you steered me correctly, I just can't find it. Any more hints?

It's not the heat or cold that affects your guitar as much as the humidity. Your local music store should sell a humidifier that hangs inside the sound hole of the guitar. This will help keep the wood stable. Also try not to store your guitar near a window or area that fluctuates in temperature.

I am learning to play "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms. The intro to this song is very low on the kneck, 10-18 frets, B and E strings. My acoustic guitar does not have the cut-away body style and this prevents me from reaching the required notes.
Does anyone have or can anyone tab similar notes for this intro that can be played on a full-body style guitar?

I have a version of this song (not sure of the artist) that mentions the "Possum Eating Cowboys" during the spoken part. There are several tabs and chords done for this song but none for this version and none that tab the spoken portion. Does anyone have a tab for the entire song (spoken part also) for this version? Can someone tell me the actual artist?
