Happy Anniversay!!!
You've been married longer than I've been alive.
Happy NGD!!!!
I'm jealous. SO are you gonna get rid of your Douglas?
Happy NGD to Andrew!!!
Glad you threw that stipulation in there, you never know....
Hope things get to looking up for you soon. 18-20 is far below your 35 but at least it's a job. Take what you can get while your still looking for better.
Welcome MKD!!! Pretty soon we'll have the whole Mekids family here. I'm sure you'll fit right in.
because I tend to tip the guitar towards me a little while sitting so I can see the fretboard better.
WHAT?!?!?!
You've been playing long enough to know that's a no no. Bad habits.....
When I am teaching a beginner, I tell them that IF they have to look at the fretboard, then lean over it instead of tipping. That way your strum will not be affected when you don't have to look.
Happy anniversary!!!
Happy NGD!!!!!
Is this your first Martin Pete?
The one and only BB king is 89 years old. Man that is old. As long as he's still able to play, I think he's alright with it.
Jeff Healey was a life long cancer fighter. He lost his eyes to cancer as a child. He ultimately died of some sort of cancer. But man, he rocked our world while he was alive!!!
+1 what Doug said. My first thought was that it has to be a plastic laminate. Wood doesn't act like that. If it's a good deal and plays nice then take a chance. You could always leave it as is.

Interesting read. I agree with everything he says except for one. Rock is NOT dead. The rock industry might be. Rock music will always live on in those who just love to play music. They do it for fun and not the money. Sure they go unnoticed and won't take over the world, but the music is definitely alive.
That sounds great, except for the part about being covered in lava and ash.
That will make for a warmer dive!
If you go by the misnomer, Greenland is ice and Iceland is green, then diving should be fine, right?
Have fun Baldy!!

It goes to show, you don't need an instrument to make music.
I bet you'd do it all over again tomorrow if given the chance. I know I would.
A comic genius!! I remember watching him, Whoopi, and Billy Crystal doing Comic Relief back in the day. Sad day.
Anyone ever been? Sounds like a good time. A little pricey tho.
1000 posts!!!!! I think you spend too much time on Chordie. Maybe you should be playing more. Just kidding. Congrats Doug.
I was right on board until they started talking about remembering things well. Maybe I haven't been playing long enough to develop that one. I can't remember what I did yesterday.

Mostly stuff we already know just explained a little better.
Happy NGD!!! That's a fine looking instrument you got.
Highly underrated. Most people don't know who he was. But to those that did know, he was a master at his craft. Seems like we're losing a lot of them lately.
I used to love wrestling on tv when I was younger. I think it has gone way over the top in recent decades. But now I'm thinking these people get a bad wrap.

I think someone was cutting onions near me when I watched this.
This thing is awesome!

Welcome to Chordie Ali!!!!!
Happy NGD as well.
If your new guitar plays well then why mess with it? If you really want to lower the action, but are inexperienced at doing so, I would take it to someone who knows how.
As far as the strings go, try it and see. There should be no ill affects of using elec strings on your acoustic. They will definitely sound different because they are made of diff materials. "Play better"? That's up to you to decide. "Deeper sound"? I doubt it. Just remember to stay within a gauge up or down of what you currently have now. Otherwise you will need a setup done.
