two boys
sons
born into privilege
but obligation
two men
brothers
judged by their actions
one respected
one not
the loved and the loathed

I have a 16 year old granddaughter who is hoping to join the army soon. While she waits, she is doing three jobs, I think that's wonderful, when you see other kids stuck in their phones or on X box or somesuch.

Phill

i love what you have done to it,i thought i had missed a trick with the wording.
i had,and you`ve put it right.
sometimes rhymes are predictable and you can see them coming, a bit of mystery
never hurt.
thanks

Purple
In a cafe we sat
having a coffee and chat
talking `bout music and art
in the back round music played
i told her     close your eyes
and i closed mine
told her to listen
tell me the colours she could see
she said red and blue
i had seen purple!

yeah it`s called democracy, the winner takes office.
it`s good that the opposition question and hold to account the govt
but the media also have a part to play, they should report facts not bias opinion.
let alone invent stories.
name calling is a great way of shutting others down.   it`s almost a new art form.

another thoughtful piece Pete.

This is so true.   However in America this is how such a donk of a person like trump was elected.

He played to the white ignorant vote, stirred up racism to a terrible new high and surly will be ranked in the top 5 worst presidents in history.

I’m not real thrilled with Biden, but what were the alternative options?

As you say, why vote?  I voted, but not real happy about what was there.  It was a game of the lessor of two evils.

Wow Beamer name calling people you dont agree with is really unproductive. It assumes there is only one right way and that is yours.
it seems people on the left are best at this but by no means have a monopoly.
(maybe i should have said MINOR party in my statement.)

Public Poem
First time in public reading a poem
scared witless
i sought out advice
look at the front
look at the back
pick out one person in the room
ignore everyone
don`t talk too fast
don`t talk too slow
too loud or too low
im looking at my shoes
knees knocking
totally bloody confused
for better or worse
here i am being myself

Sorry Brian I had to edit one word to witless. This is a family show! Lol.

Hey Phill
i bought digestives in my shopping today, thanks for reminding me about them.
In NZ the govt wanted to bring in a ``fart tax`` because of farm animals causing methane .
Well that didn`t do too well.but im sure they will try again.
In a world that people seem to want more natural, the same people are buying lab made food.
can`t they see the contradiction??

great conversation
have you heard Macdonalds are not using cardboard anymore
they are using meat!!

I cut the pointy end off chocolate digestives and then plug it in the seat belt.
