Bandmix or craigslist.I have had good luck with the musicians section on craigslist. If you just want to jam with others, specify that in your post.If you are planning to make it big.Say so.There are all kinds of different people on there.Just be cautious of who you deal with.I havent had any problem but still be careful who you deal with.

I tried to do it on my email and it wouldnt go through with her name and password. As I said before, she is my little girl and always will be.So I am extremely protective of her.I hate the thought of some perv or nut job(sorry for the terminology) trying to contact her.Especially if it is due to something that was my doing.Call me an overprotective dad but I cant help it.

if  the world were to end. What good would selling their belongings do since they would be dead.I am no expert on the subject but I do know that the money wouldnt do any good if the world did end.No matter which end of the sale you were on.By the way,I forgot the world was supposed to end until after it was too late.

I am thinking of letting my 13 year old daughter start a chordie profile.I know you all seem like great people but I cant help but be careful. Is there anything I should watch for.I dont want to be insulting to anyone but this is my little girl,so I apologize in advance if I have insulted any of you.Should I let her do it.I will constantly be checking and spying on her profile so not too much will get by me.I do it on all she does until she is old enough for me not to.Thanks joe

here is one way to look at it.Unless you are one of the beatles,Any beatle song you play will not sound like the beatles. That is a good thing. If you are good at a song, why do you want to sound exactly like the disc.Or if youre not good at  it and you are playing for yourself, who cares.A band I played with in the 80s, the leader would say"I am trying to get a Boston sound".I would say there is already a Boston sound, and the group Boston seems to have it down pretty good.See where this is going. If my wife can recognize a song we are playing that is good.If she cant, who   cares    JOE

I see names that are banned all the time. The last one about data entry in bangladesh. How does one get banned or is there a certain message that gives them such a dubious honor.I see it talking about medicines or something completely irrelevant to anything. How does this happen or is it just junk.thanks  joe

I have a 1996 strat.Maple fingerboard with the skunk stripe. The headstock has a black fender logo and says made in mexico.I called fender and they told me the year from the serial number. They didnt say it was a squier. It plays like a dream and is my main electric. I have seen others with the black fender logo.Is it a real fender or did I get  @#$%&.aNY ANSWERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Thank you in advance  Joe                  Also, it does not say squier anywhere on it.I have put it next to squiers and I cant see anything to make me believe otherwise

Why dont you just get an acoustic/electric and an electric. How much room will two actually take up?A flat hard case for an electric can easily slide under a bed or couch.A big amp can be used for an end table also.I know Ive done it.

Acoustic,by far. There is a certain intimacy with an acoustic.I play hard rock with a band(strictly electric). When I am by myself I like to play an acoustic.I have more acoustics than electrics. But the acoustics are my favorite. When I was young,it was the other way around.Comes with age I guess.Besides, all you need with an acoustic is a pick.No amps or cables to drag with you.Acoustic guitar in one hand.Bottle of moxie in the other.Try that with a strat and marshall full stack.

I have a yamahe sj 180 that is covered with stickers.I started with the word Joey on it in 1985.Then a WBCN sticker. Then a big apple jacks sticker that was on the kelloggs box. Then little stickers my daughter put on,bible quotes, richard scarry,And a narragansett beer sticker on the side near the strap pin,AAA and who knows how many others.I thought of taking a hair dryer and removing them but it is like a trip through time. Also some little stickers that say Joe on them. One on the pickguard. One on the pickguard of my Rickenbacker 450 and the case too.I got them from my father in 1984 and put them on because he thought to buy them for me.ONE MONTH BEFORE HE DIED. So if you want to criticize the sticker on a Rick.I dont care.It will stay there as long as I live

how do you change a strumming angle. If it feels comfortable "dive-bombing".Thats how you play.I personally dont care for a worn looking guitar,(even if I did it). That is why I touched up the paint on my rickenbacker with GET THIS,a sharpie.I wore it myself. While I should take pride, I dont.I want it to look as new as possible

Joey here. She cant play sitting because it slides off her lap, even when it is strapped. It is a V couctic. An acoustic flying v.As far as strings go.I cant find much difference between brands(especially electric). Some may last longer than others but thats about it.Tin ear or tightwad, that is up to you how to categorize me.I used to use only ghs nickel rockers on my electrics and martin silk and steels on my acoustics. Then I saw a bin full of discount strings and did my own test.If a brand turned out to be totally junk(ROUNDS).I simply dont buy them again no matter how cheap. But it only happened once.(ROUNDS).Im no expert on strings. But if you see a brand called rounds.Stay away

I have a dean steel body resonator and 6 string banjo. The reso plays good and takes getting used to.The banjo plays good. The only problem with the resonator is it constantly has to be adjusted at the tailpiece. Also my daughter has a dean Vcoustic. It plays ,great sounds good. The only problem is it cont be played sitting down.My only conclusion I can draw on dean guitars is to play them for a long time in the music store if you consider buying. As far as strings go.I use a special brand called whatever is cheapest as long as it starts with a 10 gauge. And for acoustics, whatever is cheapest as long as it starts with an 11 gauge.

Hey buzzwagon.     You were so right. The strat that sucks is now a wonderful guitar.65.00 and it was all setup and now it goes to my 13 year old daughter.Someone tried to adjust things themselves on it and you can guess the rest. Now it is all adjusted, aligned.inspected, infected, cleaned andstrung.Thanx for the advice

Isaid the other mex strat is awful. It just needed a goos setup. Now it is a fantastic guitar.I got 5 minutes of enjoyment from it and gave it to my daughter. P.S. to gabbysings2. My daughters name is gabby(gabrielle),she plays and sings and I gave her a mexican strat. Is that a great coincidence or what?

Did it yesterday.Gave my 13 year old daughter the 2001 strat. The setup was great. It plays great and sounds great. They even cleaned it up and it looks great. It is still hers now.Too bad she is too young to appreciate what a fine instrument it is.I still have my 1996 strat which I like better anyways.Do I have any regrets about spending the money to give it away.No. She is still my little girl. Also when I die she will end up with quite the bunch of guitars and amps.(even the ric)
