Grah1 ......... thanks for that. Yes i have an electric uke too, I love it
mekidsmom ........... aww thanks for that, I like to try most music and give it ago
Tigljk ............ thanks also, your comments are always so generous. What accent? ha-ha
Roger ........... thank you, oh would be great to hear you play ukulele
Grah1 ...... thanks for that. Some great picking going on there by the sounds. He is good, and it sounded great with the guitar and drums. This is on my to do list .......... sit down and practice, practice, practice picking. I haven`t given picking enough time, i think i am a bit to impatient, i start singing then oh to heck with it and revert back to strumming lol
Very good Phill some amusing lines in there too ,I especially like the one about maybe its payback for all the cars I stole.
Ditto! Great song
Ok I have put my attempt up and i stress attempt!! Ukulele as usual for me and vocals definitely not the best on this song for me, i probably should have transposed the chords more suited to my voice. Made an oops at the end as well, said closen actually instead of chosen, tongue tied ;P
Kimnoblemusic, awesome
Kimnoblemusic, awesome
Hmmmm this is one of those thought provoking songs. I definitely think older people can be over looked, forgotten, not even acknowledged, making them very much invisible. Some of them with years of experience, expertise, knowledge of many things in life, only to die with them. Fortunately if we look hard enough, there are some who are very much loved, cherished and appreciated .......... it would be wonderful if this was the norm!
Dirty Ed, your very welcome
mekidsmom ....thanks heaps, I am enjoying these Featured Songs of the Month too and KUDOS also to " unclejoesband" because he expanded on the idea
Hope you do get around to having a go at this, I dare ya
Baldguitardude ......... go for it! Absolutely no reason why you cant! As long as it is the same song featured for that month, you can do as many re-takes as you want in that month of the song
TIGLJK ............ WOW, oh my you have just gone up a whole new level! That is brilliant and i am definitely going to have to have ago at that! Love it!.

Kim, that sounds fantastic! I would definitely would be interested, wow, what a great experience it would be. Just when your free and have the time Kim, email me and we can talk further about it as i know your busy at the moment getting ready for Germany etc, but yes love to talk with you about it
Hi Dirty Ed,
I would suggest for your granddaughter a nice Kala for around that price, you can get a Kala in a normal size or a thin travel size..
Another good brand for ukulele is Lanikai, (they make a nice tenor too if you wanted to go to a bigger ukulele).
Personally i play mostly soprano or concert size ukulele`s, concert size being my favourite size.
STRINGS: Often though as well as a good ukulele to begin with, the main thing is getting decent strings put on.......Aquila strings are excellent for ukulele`s.
Any ladies out there going to have a go at this one? mekidsmom? kimnoble?
I will be .......... just waiting until i get a bit of spare time
Roger.......... comments on sound cloud for you too ........ really enjoyed your cover too, easy listening, was singing along to it

You rotten sons of sea cooks! Now I've pulled out a D harmonica only to be reminded that I have no idea how to play a harmonica.
Hmph.
And a 12 string.
- Zurf
Zurf, just starting to learn the harmonica myself,..........*cough* practicing on children`s songs first to get the basic`s in.....................and my husband thinks i am long winded? hah, i don`t have enough puff to make the harmonica sound good yet.
