LOL!!
Your lack of talent is only in your mind ... we all have varying degrees, and whilst you don't have the vocal cords of Taylor Swift, you're doing better than the person who never tries ...,
Theme from (or well known song from) a movie ... eg "Rhinestone Cowboy", "To sir, with love", etc
How about a song in a language other than English .. eg, in your own (or second) language??
I saved a copy of the original domain for the Shades of Perth CD's, which is archived here, with a few samples ...
This was my instrumental, Nymphettes Dance
Tenement Funster wrote:Love the newspaper clippings, NEO ... nothing wrong with enjoying and celebrating the glory days. I've always enjoyed the history behind a musician or group, but it's even better when it's about a fellow Chordian! Good on ya, mate!
I'll see if I can dig up more ...
Baldguitardude wrote:How about instrumentals so the non singers can partake?
insert
Zurf wrote:Sorry Neo. I'm way, way behind on listening. I always enjoy your songs, but I have been very short on time. I will listen to all the ones you've taken the time to record and share with us. I appreciate that there's some guy 1/2 a world away willing to do that more than you know.
That's cool, as I'm still way behind as well, hopefully my employment situation will stabilize and I'll get some time to get other stuff done ...
Songs featuring colours ... eg Pink Cadillac, Brown Eyes ... but excluding where it's describing the song genre eg San Francisco Bay blues ...

Yes ...

Tenement Funster wrote:Great photo, by the way ...
Thanks, my son took it at our family photo shoot (as I don't have a lot of photos with the guitar and myself!!) ...

I knew I should have laid off the "wah-wah chicka-chicka wah-wah, [bass riff] sleazy solo" sound
Tenement Funster wrote:Anyone with the "Head Pickle Rhymer" title deserves a lot of respect at the outset ... most of couldn't carry that name with dignity or poise. The others have already said it, but your work is consistently high quality, and makes me wish I had the talent and courage to put my work out there like you do. Keep at it ... you're an inspiration to the rest of us.
Ditto, I wish I was as inspired as you to write again ...
Baldguitardude wrote:I had trouble with the fourth recording. It stopped at four minutes and change
Hmm, just checked and it seemed to be OK around that mark for me, it may be slowness of the internet, as these songs are hosted on a PC that is sitting by my feet ... did you want to give it another try and see if it works??
Cheers

Peatle Jville wrote:Neo that is very cool bit of your history thanks for sharing.
No problem ... I've got a bunch of other clippings I'll get around to scanning someday
Baldguitardude wrote:Very floyd-y. I'm surprised that none of the reviewers picked up on that.
Is that an Ibanez EX365 in the photo?
Thanks, and no, it's a Riverhead Session guitar http://neophytte.mine.nu/photo/2011-10-06-Session/

Zurf wrote:That's quite the porn star mustache you've got in that clipping, Neo.
Thanks - it was supposed to be Zappa-esque, but I don't quite pull off that look
You can get a good look at it in this old video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iYMaBi … AXRF1_b1zV
Peatle Jville wrote:Neo I love the way you do Captain Kennedy. ,
Thank you
Jandle wrote:Wow Neo, you definitely need a `pickle` award or something for the person who enters the most songs! You amaze me at how many you manage to cover, well done once again to you. I thought your guitar work on Pinball Wizard and New York - New York was very good. There was a couple of songs there I havent heard of before such as Rock n Roll and Going to California, so its great to hear new songs
Thanks I've still got a few others I recorded, but haven't put the video together yet ... this month has been a bit busy with loosing my job, the Mother-in-law visiting from overseas, etc ... which is why there was a load a t the end of the month, rather than evenly paced ...

I feel for you - my Father-in-law was very ill for the last few years, and was bed-ridden for the last couple of years of his life, we flew back to Malaysia at short notice about 5 times in the year he passed away, which is a drained exercise to move two adults and two kids each time ... both emotionally and financially. It's never a fun time, so I really do empathize ...
