Good question, KIR ...
There's a lot of pick-less notes they use, by tapping the string in the frets. Mine won't give that level of volume or definition when I do it, and neither do several high-end guitars I've tried in several stores. No problem on the electric, due to the way the string vibes are captured magnetically. I suspect they're using a higher fret wire to enable this technique, which is vital to playing this style properly ... more research needed.
I've started noodling around with some of Tobias Rauscher's teaching on his "Fingerstyle Guitar Academy" website, and will be featuring some of his work in coming weeks:
Thanks for the interest, KIR ... it certainly is a style of playing that absorbs ones attention!
