Scott sailer
5/29/20
Key: G
Timing: 6/8 or 4/4 idk?? ~ Bpm  ??
Bmadd11   x 2 4 4 3 0
Aadd9        5 7 7 6 0 0
D Maj          x x 0 2 3 2
Cadd9        x 3 2 0 3 0
G Maj         3 2 0 0 3 3

Bmadd11            Aadd9
In this life we live,       Living for so long
Bmadd11
We meet that special someone,
Aadd9
We think of them all day long.
Bmadd11                          Aadd9
Look how I got caught, not even trying to run
D                     Cadd9
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …    D       G
                                                           Love song
Shot out of a cannon,
Spinning head first,
Will we rise?
Or will we fall?

With the power of the blast,
We are stopped in our tracks
Vanquish the past,
Never look back.

D                     Cadd9
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …    D       G
                                                           Love song

Here I stand with my heart in my hand.
Tell me this one’s not fake.
Will it break or expand?
Let’s step into the unplanned.

Yes this is new, yes this is fresh,
Let’s not let fear tangle the net.
To you I say be of strong faith,
Feed the future, and we will find our place

D                     Cadd9
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …    D       G
                                                           Love song

Yes this is new, yes this is fresh,
Let’s not let fear tangle the net.
To you I say be of strong faith,
Feed the future, and we will find our place

My days get brighter
The more that I know,
Look at me, into my eyes,
Let me see how they glow

D                     Cadd9
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …
I just want to   write my last …    D       G
                                                           Love song

Hey Scott - Looks like another good one for you. Your words ring true and surly come from deep within you. I'm looking forward to hearing how you play it.

Looks good Beamer !!
I like the way it rhymes, but not perfect - like keep/jeep      it sutley reminds us that love is not perfect either.

Way to go - looking forward to the rendition!

Re: ANOTHER LAST LOVE SONG

O ye of wierd and wonderful chords! You're undecided over the timing? How about giving us a sample of both versions and the community can help you decide?
Now about the words...I believe all songs have a meaning even if it's not meant. I get the feeling that you're saying not "no more love songs please" but "I wish I could find the woman that would inspire me to write my last love song" I may be well wrong?

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: ANOTHER LAST LOVE SONG

I have found a lady I wish to write my last love song for but I guess please no more love songs would apply..

My son says I’m playing it like all my other stuff.  I tried hard to go 6/8. But whatever, it will be what it is.  I’ll let my drummer figure it out! Lol

Re: ANOTHER LAST LOVE SONG

Beamer your 12 string sounds good. Your lyrics work good I can hear many who have found that special one relating to your lyrics. I am sure your song will take on a personal meaning for those who have hit the jackpot and don't need anyone else to have a love affair with.

Re: ANOTHER LAST LOVE SONG

Love the sound of your 12er, very mellow. Now for the bad news....I think your chord structure will make a great (last?)love song, but what you played is in 4:4 time, 6:4 is a waltz time with twice as many beats to each bar. Do you have any stomp boxes with a metronome? Or download from the net. Look forward to hearing the finished recording.

Well as I said I was tryiong to play  6/8 lol,  so 4/4 it is. I was trying to emphasize the 1 and 4. (the top of the page says 6/8 or 4/4 lol so I get a slight dispensation I would think big_smile  )
OH well,  it works.
I did create a drum track in 6/8 on EZ drummer so maybe then Ill get it correct. I have to re record it in the DAW and we will see how I do.  Otherwise I switch the drum track to 4/4 LOL.
