Re: skool of rock?

This is the nephew of a good friend of mine--Zack was the name of the character, and the actor was Joey Gaydos, Jr.  He's a musician, not an actor, and has some chops for a kid...was only 11 when he did the movie.  His website is www.joeygaydosjr.net
if you want to check him out.

Re: skool of rock?

The MOVIE is CALLED: "TENACIOUS D"
The group with Jack Black, is 100% real pop/rock group called TENACIOUS D. This is what I found:

an American rock band duo composed of musician/actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black. Their music fuses vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music in a style that critics have described as "mock rock".

sorry if i misinterpreted this but i think your asking what song he made the kids play at the beggining when he found out they could play music? the song he had them playing was smoke on the water by deep purple. It's pretty easy to play and i know there's like a billion versions of it here on chordie.

Re: skool of rock?

Hey there! That's a great question. In the movie "School of Rock," the song that Jack Black's character teaches the kid to play on electric guitar for the first time is 'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath. It's one of the iconic scenes from the movie! Hope that helps
