haha my friend has a band that he has REALLY high hopes for, but the band's not so good. a buddy of his convinced him to name the band Still, so on the old tavern billboard it could read (in 20 years or so

Still playing at the local hellhole

or if they placed an ad...

Still looking for a gig

I've been in a few bands with wierd names:

'The Third Radiator Along'
'The F*cking B*stards'
'The Not-Rock Blurge Band'

My favourite, though never used, was 'Hideous Meringue', and I did come up with the name 'That Band'

The worst name I ever saw was a local solo singer who called himself 'Matt Silk'. Presumably a painter and decorator during the day? There was also a solo singer/guitarist called 'Carlo Santanna'

ive always wondered why you would name your band yeah yeah yeahs, i do think they're great though

As seen on a long forgotten programme - "The Tube" with Jools Holland - they did a special from West Berlin ( how long ago was that ? ) on German punk bands.

One of the bands was called " Die Toten Hosen" - the dead trousers - which I thought was punktastic. I think I saw the same band was still playing a few years ago.

one of my bands 1966 [approx] was named ROMFT we seen it on stickers in the local boat club, was only later we found out what it meant, it was a navy saying in those days to join the royal navy you signed up for 12 years. Hence Roll On My F*****g Twelfth. Needless to say we changed the name. I still have a photo taken in 1966 two of the members are still giging .b.

If you want to pack out a bar, name the band "Free Beer". The local police objected to that name on a sign outside a local bistro.
We named our trio "The Half-Fast Creekers"
We're all sailors with boats in Fly Creek. A bar patron asked me if I was half-fast or half-assed. I replied, "Both."
