How's about this version of the dreaded B monster...

X21X02

Muted E string. 1st finger 1st fret of D string. 2nd finger 2nd fret of A string. Mute the G string by leaning your 1st finger against it slightly. Open B string. 3rd finger 2nd fret of e string.

I'd still practice X24442 or X2444X though.

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

The best way i can catch the B chord is to bar the second fret with my index finger and catch the third and forth strings on the fourth fret with my ring finger and pinky. During quick changes i just use the index and ring fingers. Just your basic barred B which is a lot easier once you build up your finger strength. Any other way just doesn't work as well. Another benifit of learning it that way is just a slide up or down on the neck you will have other chords that are hard done any other way.

Muting two strings in the same chord is NOT HELPFUL!!  big_smile
