Most of those 'chords' just embellishments that have no bearing at all. C Cmaj7 Csus is basically just hammering and pulling of the B string for embellishments. I wouldn't call them chords. The basic layout of the song suffices. Good job...but I would say E7 is better way than Am to get that 'you were quicker than they thought.'

thanks for the E7 idea it sounds good there also but all these extra chordes are just confusing me.

This is pretty good but your missing a few chords. The chord progression should be like this:
Cmaj7 - C - Cmaj7 C - Cadd9 - Em - G
It also has this progression at several points:
G - G/F# - G/E - G/F#
