Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

It is very obvious why you bought this one.

I hope you like cooking as it is unlikely that Mrs Scrimmy will be doing any for you for a while.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

I bought it because its a copy of the Gibson that I would absolutely love to own lol

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

I don't know why you are saying it's a cheap piece of junk...it looks like some of the Chinese guitars that I've been seeing and most of those are remarkably well made for the price...I would prefer the Gibson but if you can't afford it then play what you can get!

Middleaged Redneck sorta guy who refuses to grow up...passion for music, especially Southern Rock but like bout everything cept Gangsta/Hip Hop. Collect guitars, mandolins, and love to ride Harleys.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

On the plus side it has no whammy bar and a decent looking bridge. Likewise only a tone and volume control so the electrics aren't retro like the looks. Humbuckers should be sound and they've left you a space between to thrash the finish

Having said this you won't know till you get it what it really sounds like. This is always the advantage of seeing the instrument in person.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

It says its a semi, but doesnt look like a semi to me, those look like electric strings, maybe i'm wrong.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

I have a Martin D-35 @ $2400.00
and a Kona accoustic electric @$300.00
They both play great but really would rather play the Kona.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

I can't see the guitar picture... any hints on what I'm doing wrong?

This post was caried over, the picture was lost after the upgrade of the chordie website. If my memory is correct (the 70's through the 90's are still a bit hazy to me if you catch my drift) it was a white copy of a Gibson 335 holobody guitar (correct name and not electric acoustic as some might think).

Bootlegger.

Re: What do you all make of this guitar??

Hi Bootlegger,

Since you have raised the point can you explain what is the difference between a holobody, semi-acoustic and electric acoustic guitar?

Thank you,

Roger

Make me work Roger smile

1, A hollow body is just that either chambered with sound holes or built similar to an acoustic with a frame (or ring if you will) that being an outline of the body.

2, A semi acoustic would be an electric also outfitted with acoustic bridge saddles (these have a pick up built under the brigde) and or outiffited with electric and acoustic pickups. In essence a hollowbody with both acoustic & electric pickups. Check www.Michaelkelly.com and take a look at the hybrid guitar for a better explination.

3. An electric acoustic guitar is a misnomer it is actually an acoustic guitar with on board electronics that can be either played acoustically or amplified henceforth acoustic /electric.
