Topic: these are the lyrics for a song I wrote: Lady Mary's autumn

Lady mary’s autumn

Hey lady Mary, now you’re 53 years old
You cant’t make your mind up, quite unhappy as I’m told
Now atumn’s come  outside it’s cold and grey
The seasons come and go, but isn’t it strange
That the world just keeps on turning, while you’re  standing still
With troubled mind and weary eyes, you  can’t seem to find the thrill
That makes you want to go on..

Events in life, well they just happen to us all
You had your share of it, and how it got you small
You doubted everything and everyone around
You fell down from the top and  how you hit the ground
But In spite of all your knowledge and intelligence
You seem to miss the energy to breakdown your own fence
So You can’t find your way to go on..

The signs of aging now begin to show
Your angel looks lye far behind you though
You try keep up your appearance with
Your Fancy clothing, and you paid your lift
But your children they don’ t need you, and your ex married again
And you try to make the best of it, but you just don’t know when
You will find a way to go on.

You look for love, but you’re not  e ven  sure
It just might force  you to leave your front door
But you’re afraid to leave your dreary cave
Outside it’s stormy, and you don’t feel save
But somewhere in your mind, you know you have to take the step
Cause if you don’t,  you know, you’ll stay caught in your trap
And there’s  no way you can go on
There’s no way you can go on…

hi tobijasma, welcome to the forums, a thought provoking song and depressing in a way as at the age of 62, my wife has gone through many of the situations you have written about. it's a sign (or curse) of a writer that he can take what he sees going on around him and make it into a song. i take it it is a song not a poem as you haven't put the chords up. if you need help with chopro see the sticky at the top, or just add them where they go and a moderator will do it for you.

well done, thanks for sharing, and we would like to see more.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.
