Twenty first century expectations

C-  G          Am
Here we all are
           F                    G~
in the twenty first century,
C-G     Am              F                        G~
its not at all, like we thought it would be.
C -     G            Am
Been round the world,
F                        G~
had some experience,
C-     G         Am        F         G~
been back to uni and got a degree.

Chorus
F
Faces remembered,
                 Em
some best forgotten,
F
some that you wont,
                     Em
want to,  see again.
F
Memory’s of places,
                        Em
that you once dreamed about.
D                                                   G~
Memory’s of places you wont go again.

C - G            Am
Across the water,
F                    G~
people are crying,
C      G               Am
they shout for your help,
F                     G~
in the dark of the night.
C      G          Am
Safe in your home,
F                        G~
an Englishman's castle.
C-    G           Am
No one can hurt you,
F                        G~
so you’ll be all right.

Chorus

C       G              Am
You could be a teacher,
F                    G~
in front of a classroom.
C    G            Am
Or maybe a baker
F                        G~
needing some bread.
C       G              Am
You could be a banker,
F                        G~
safe in some office.
C      G            Am
No! you are a mother,
F                        G~
collecting your dead.

Chorus then verse 1

Re: 21st Century expectations

Enjoyed it Graham. Very playable and tells a story I can relate to. Good job!
