I really liked the old format that showed the song with chords and how to play each chord. The new format leaves you in disarray if a new guitar player

Check your preferences in your user profile, you should be able to select show songs in chopro format when available and toggle grids on /off in your display settings. With the upgrade, they might have reset to default text, no grids. You might also visit the About Chordie section for guides and discussions about the subject you are asking of which might be of more help.

It's possible also that the song you've found may not have been provided in chopro, in which case the chord charts and chords listed above the words will not show. That is determined on where the songs are hosted, and what format they are in. For example, this one: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/getso … e.2.chopro should show the chords above words as well as the chord diagrams. If you can't see those, then as Doug said, it may be a matter of tweaking your preferences when signed in! Let us know how we can help!
