A Dozen Furies were a Texas-based metalcore band. They rose to prominence by winning MTV's Battle For Ozzfest, where eight bands battled it out for a spot on the 2005 Ozzfest tour. Prizes included $60,000 in cash, musical equipment from Gibson and a recording deal with Sanctuary Records. The twist was that only one member from each band could compete. Marc Serrano, the lead guitarist, was chosen to compete. On January 18, 2004, A Dozen Furies won the contest. After the show, they toured Ozzfest 2005, and later released the full-length album A Concept From Fire that included the song "An Idea and Some Rope", which was showed on Battle For Ozzfest.
After a short two-year run, the group broke up, stating that they had grown apart and that the "wrong" things fell into place at the "right" time. It was posted both on their official site and their MySpace page.
