"Abruptum" is a black metal band from Sweden. The band was formed in 1990 by It (real name Tony Särkkä), All (real name Jim Berger), and Ext. Following the completion of their first demo in 1990, Ext was thrown out of the band. According to It, Ext was disturbed by the pure evilness of the demo after hearing the finished product and that he joined the nearest church after his departure. http://www.www.blackmetal.nu/~ubc/files/abruptumint.htm All would stay for their second demo ''The Satanist Tunes'' but was forced to quit due to his problems with alcohol.
It continued the band as a solo project until joined by Evil (real name Morgan Håkansson) of Marduk. Abruptum was signed to Euronymous's label Deathlike Silence Productions, on which they released two albums. They were noted by him as being "the audial presence of Pure Black Evil" and It considered him to be "a true ally." After Euronymous's murder, they would contribute the opening track to the compilation album ''Nordic Black Metal: A Tribute To Euronymous''.
