Jennifer Chantal Kreviazuk (born May 18, 1973) is a Canadian singer-songwriter of rock and pop music.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kreviazuk is a classically trained pianist. Her first album Under These Rocks and Stones was released in Canada in 1996 to critical praise and in early 1997 in the US. The album sold over 100,000 copies in the US fueled mostly by the single "God Made Me" while in Canada went double platinum with sales of over 200,000. She had four videos from the album receive modest airplay on MuchMusic?. "God Made Me", "Believer" and "Wayne" also received airplay in Canada but it was "Surrounded" that became her first major Canadian airplay hit in 1997. That year, Chantal received her first Juno Award nomination for Best New Artist.
In 1998, Kreviazuk scored her first international hit with a cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" from the soundtrack to the blockbuster film Armageddon.
