Emily Saliers

"Emily Saliers", born on July 22, 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut, is a singer-songwriter and member of the Indigo Girls. Saliers began her college education at Tulane University, but later transferred to Emory University. Saliers graduated from Emory in 1985 with a degree in English. She was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a student.

Saliers is a consummate musician and plays lead guitar as well as banjo, piano, mandolin and many other world instruments.

In 2004, she did her first film score for the independent short film, One Weekend A Month and although she has not yet released a solo album, she regularly does solo appearances at benefit shows or as a guest with friends' bands.

Saliers has a passion for wine collecting, and is the co-owner of Watershed Restaurant in Decatur, Georgia. Emily also co-founded the Flying Biscuit Cafe in Atlanta, Georgia.
