Christopher Lloyd (born April 30 1982), better known as Lloyd Banks, is an American rapper and is a member of the popular hip-hop group G-Unit. Banks is of African American and Puerto Rican descent.
Born in New Carrollton, Maryland, to a Puerto Rican mother and a African American father, Banks moved to the New York City neighborhood of South Jamaica, Queens at age 6. With his father in and out of the prison system, Banks' mother was left to raise him. Dropping out of high school before his 16th birthday, Lloyd began performing his rhymes on street corners, where he gained local fame and appeared on several mixtapes. Together with two other local aspiring artists, Tony Yayo and 50 Cent, G-Unit was created. Banks would later sign a record deal with the label after it was established as a subsidiary of Interscope Records
After the creation of G-Unit, Banks went on to have a really strong presence on mixtapes.
